Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
I did not know the man or his family at all and only spoke to him and his wife 10+ years ago at at the track. Scott was pimping out the new zx10r and offered to let me have a go but I'm so used to my bike gp shift and all and told him I didn't feel comfortable (I was scared as fuck I'd downshift by accident and send it to the moon). Well Scott dropped it and we had a nice conversation and I just figured he was the kawi dealer and no idea he was a boss around nhms. Anyway point of that story is I still remember his smile and how nice he was to me to this day. It's rare you talk to someone for 5 minutes so long ago and remember them because there was just something special about him. So sorry for his family and the community of people close to him.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
He did have one do those smiles that you always remember. And I think I have seen him mad once or twice the whole time I knew him. And he was back smiling moments later.
His dealership, one of kind. Legit a family business where the employees are part of the family.
This fucking blows man. I can’t say Sarah without my eyes watering since I heard. Can’t imagine what that woman is going through right now.

I just came across this picture that was taken on 5/2. I lead a NESR ride up to round 1 to spectate and support all our friends. John who rode up with us took this picture from up above on the wooden viewing stand in T1.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
Thanks to those who have reached out about helping with the BBQ. I spoke to John yesterday and he’s going to let me know next week whether or not we can do it. The series has an exclusive agreement with a food vendor and they have first right of refusal. He was positive about the idea so hopefully we’ll be able to get this done. Will update when I hear back from John.

I thought that only applied to other food vendors not the racers themselves. Never stopped us from cooking a bunch of food before.

No it hasn’t, last one I did was for Mike Clark’s nasty get off. We didn’t ask anyone, we just did it. That said, I wanted to use the proper channels for this. New series owners since last time and obviously a very emotional situation for all.

Does anyone know how to make donations? I saw you can do it with venmo but I dont have that app. Do they take PayPal or can I give some thing in person next round?

I think it's with the smoke house that's at the track. That guy is super cool though. I know he donated food and cooked another time as a fund raiser last year. Let me know either way.
Got your pm, btw. I'll hit you up tomorrow.

So sad… Hate to hear about this stuff, especially with such a young family left behind. RIP. You will be sorely missed.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
I heard from 2 people this was the “biggest funeral” they have ever attended. Massive crowd to honor Scott and show love to the family and SVM. Green lights all over the town. Several businesses put up signs up with messages dedicated to Scott and family. As a friend said, the Joey Dunlop of NH!!

2+ hour wait to get in... right from the start. We left at 8:15 and there was still a line halfway down the street. Simply amazing.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
I’ve only been to a few wakes where there was a 2+ hour wait. And the fact that your friend was younger than the folks I’m thinking of is a testament to the kind of person he must have been. RIP to him, and the best to all of you and his family and friends.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
The line was nearly a quarter mile long when we got there... and it was still nearly a quarter mile long more than two hours later when we left. He touched the lives of countless people. I hope they had enough guest books.

There will be a memorial held at the upcoming August 21-22 NEMRR event for Scott Mullin. There will be decals, t-shirts, and potentially a dinner at the end of the day of Saturday - all to support the Mullin family and the Scott Mullin Honorary Trust. Many details to follow, we are grateful for all of you and the love we’ve witnessed in this past week.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
After speaking with Eric and John over the weekend, Josh from the Smoke Shack and I will be working together to put on the benefit BBQ. Honestly I'm not sure what help I'll actually be, he has a restaurant (different location) he'll be doing much of the cooking on. Josh has very generously offered to donate the food to the cause. Will update as we develop the plan.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
SVM posted a cool NEMRR video this morning. Scott's interview is at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GQnfjfj0OA

Yeah... Martin Hanlon put that together. I couldn't be any more thankful for the way he handled that.
... Happy cry.

Re: For those who haven't heard the devastating news out of Loudon...
OK, here's where the BBQ is at and how you can help. Josh, the owner of the Smoke Shack, will be providing all of the food. It will take place on Saturday 8/21 following close of racing and awards ceremony.
He has asked that he have 2-3 volunteers for food prep in the afternoon, then 3-4 volunteers for food service in the evening. Going to drop the initial signup sheet here as many members have sent messages asking how they can help. If we don't fill all the spots here we'll look at the NEMRR Facebook group. Please quote from last post when signing up to capture all volunteers.
