Which slipper clutch is better:Adler or STM?
Thanks,
Nathan
You'll be pressed to find anyone that has used both around here, but I'm sure 20 people will tell you which one you have to get.
The STM is in my bike, they'll both do the same thing.
Thanks Jay.
If I provide the beer will you be willing to help install one with me? This would not be for a little while.
Thanks,
Nathan
I've always had good luck with STM.
I don't drink much anymore, and mine was put in by the previous owner, but I'd be happy to help.
It pretty easy

Alders are what come OEM on KTM's, just FYI.
I picked up a Alder for my RMZ cause I got a stupid deal on it and it seems like it does the trick (reading reviews on Supermotojunkie.com)
Like Jay said, can't go wrong either way IMO.

I can basically get either brand for 500 bucks brand new which I think is a good deal. Is it? This is for a YZ450.
Thanks,
Nathan
That's a good deal. STM retails for around 900-1000 and Alder for 900-1100 (depending on model/bike)
I got my Alder for $400 off twowheelsteals.com

Spares? You're supposed to have spares? Just remember that Street & Comp doesn't really carry shit for motards. I have spare bars, plastics, and that's about it. Chain and maybe sprockets are a good idea. Basically anything else gets broken bad enough to need replacement and you're probably gonna be too sore to race anyway. And Freedom Cycle isn't far away, they have a pretty good selection of parts.
bwahaha.
Dude I have brake pads and uh.. that's it.
It's a dirtbike, as LRRS313 said, if you crash hard enough to brake anything chances are you are packing up the truck and heading home.
Spare bars aren't a bad idea but those are pretty easy to bend back with a big pipe. Levers are protected by the handguards, pegs are builtproof, there is no plastics to brake (like RR fiberglass) and uh.. that's it.
