ya know, that would be a fun new class to make. Take SS back to its true roots with production rules and such and create a SpoilSport class which would be like SS is now but with more flexiblity for things like engine work. It could be the intermediatary class between true 'superbike' rules and the low restrictioned supersport. :D

I agree with what a13x. said. Dont hop 'em up too much, or they'll explode without constant maintenance. The crank bearings/balancer bearings in the thumping singles have a tendancy to go pretty quickly too, so if you plan on pulling it apart, wouldnt hurt to pound out the old ones, and get some new ones in.
I have a hard time believing that Jeff went two seasons without a rebuild. Maybe two seasons without the bike blowing up, but definitly at least a rebuild. If its true, then man, thats a tight bike.
If I'm correct, I can run my 510 in supersingles, right? I didnt read about a displacement limit there... but then again, I -am- crazy.

Speaking of blowing up. Those KTM's don't have a rev limiter as I understand. Sounds like a recipe for grenading. I know if my bike didn't have one I'd rev the fak out of it on the front straigh till it did go BOOM. I usually hit 5th ride it to the limiter then let off just a tad. Wait about another 4 minutes then drop 2 and tip her in for 1.
Heath found out the hard way that you don't pipe a bike and not jet. Running lean revving the bag out of it and KA - BOOM.

I hit around 105mph on the front straight, WOT in 6th gear, at about 6600 RPM. Considering over-rev is around 8000 RPM, I've got awhile to go. I dont have a rev-limiter either. Keeps pullin' until I tap it down one and tip into 1...Quote:

Red or dead... You honda riders are fanatical... Pay more for the stock CRF450 than a SM450R, and then you spend oodles on wheels, brakes and whatnot....
I'm sure ya'll will spank me in every class, and the Honda/Husky taunting will erupt... but someday Joel and I will split you into T3 while your CRF is making a "fwappita fwappita" noise as the crank pokes through the front of the case. :P :lol:
