Infield is fucked. 2/3rds of it offlimits. Also no power anywhere except for the infield bathroom plugs, which are already taken. Going to be madhouse. Glad I have garage, but my tent is right outside infield bathroom.

Great, no power anywhere on the infield...
Anyone know if there are outlets boxes anywhere off the infield? I'd be inclined to set my camper up outside the tunnel or way out in the Nascar lots and just "commute" to the track if it meant having power and enough room to breathe.

ok, so where can we set up camp and plug in? Where is there power?

Alex pretty much summed it up.
Anything to the left of the main road from the tunnel almost to the T3 bleachers is an active construction site and off limits.
Get there early. What little grass that's available and the perimeters around the garages are already filling up.

Wonderful... guess I should start considering a garage spot?
^^ What he said. If you have a generator bring it as juice will definitely be at a premium. Trailer/RV hookups are getting scarce but can still be scrounged here and there.

I stopped by yesterday and was almost surprised by how big the Penguin class was. Conversely Wanda says pre-reg was way down from last year so we'll see how many have the funds to blow (not me) this week end. Lot of excavating going on all around the track, the view around T9 is wide open now.
glad i got here thursday..back straight if anyone wants to swing by
Mmmm.. Sun..... Burn.....

The LRRS staff working gate/etc were reporting the plan is indeed to pave the entire infield eventually. Where they are filling in now will be covered by gravel first, pavement later. Guess the owners don't want to deal with maintaining grass. Noticed construction going on in more places than just the infield, you can see some of the NASCAR parking by the south entrance has been ripped up, and people were saying the run off outside 9 has been worked on? The rumor that the owners would be building a new road course was also bandied about by the gate workers.
