I'm looking to get them for the 998 so when I bring it for track days I don't have to use my stock plastics and I can get frame sliders without cutting my stock plastics.
Honestly I will probably just leave it on all the time and store the stock fairings.
I know someone who got these and the don't look bad. The paint isn't perfect but they would look great from 20ft.
What do you think?

After all the shipping, is it really worth the risk? You get what you pay for.
Is you time worth $50 an hour? Then the extra 4 hours having re-drill everything may not pay off. That said, I've seen the Repsol Honda ones that look pretty slick ! But I'd bet getting them on and off every track day is gonna get old real fast, if the fit is not spot on.

For 288 How could you go Wrong?
Oh wait $225 for shipping?
I would keep looking

Well I have Hotbodies coming thanks to Kitt... I'll just need to paint them (or have them painted).
I'll cut holes for the lights, and frame sliders then I will go buy a windscreen (since the hotbodies kit doesn't come with one). Then swap them for the stock plastics and run the bike like that. No need to swap for trackdays.
I'll keep the stock bodywork for if I ever sell it.

I've got a set of these on my 916. They look fine from 20 feet and they fit ok.
I bought them because I was getting my stock plastics repaired and painted by Empire... and I wanted something to put on to ride.
I just left them on for the most part. I'll save the stock for when I sell the bike.

Those are more meant for street riders that want some bling. The fit and finish leaves something to be desired from what I've seen of those sets. Also the crashability is not good I've seen a couple wrecked sets...
For track specific fairings you're going to want something purpose-made. For that money you could get a set of armor bodies almost and just paint em yourself, and that's some good shit.
Then if all you're going to do with them is track days you might not care about crashability...
edit: don't these not have enough early 1990's shoe company ads on them for you?

So, Doc,
You didn't mention this to me on tuesday and I must have missed this. Which frame sliders are you looking at? I've done a lot of looking lately and can't decide which way to go with the sliders. Under the fairing, through the fairing. Both have plusses and minuses.
Which are you going with?
Gonna go through the fairing with the Hotbodies bodywork I am getting.
