Tires were the main issue the first year or even two of the Bridgestone era. I think Michelin has been changing the tires at literally EVERY round. That makes parity among teams almost impossible as they have to scramble to adapt their bike at each and every round.
Oddly. the racing has been MORE exciting than in the last few years of Bridgestone.
I couldn't believe iannone's front tire. Amazing he finished.

And who says we can't do that at Loudon?
Can't imagine we could do that to a tire, could any of us?
You wouldn't blame the manufacturer for developing a tire that disintegrated for multiple riders? I have no basis for my statement other than thinking if I were developing a product, I wouldn't want something circulating that would look poorly on me until I knew what/why happened.
The riders asked a nurse to do the surgeon's work. I've chunked rains like that on a dry track, that's what happens.
Even the riders blame the manufacturer.

Well, a rider.

Until I see a photo of his tire, I'm not going to believe it. He is the queen of excuses. Fantastic rider when things go his way. When they don't there is an excuse.
Everyone else with a chunked tire had photo proof. Not going to say his front wasn't going off, but I'm with Dove on this one. Hard/Hard was the right combo. If you ran anything else you got it wrong and can't blame the tire manufacturer.
Lorenzo is a baby.
Notice how Andrea says it like it is?
"But unfortunately in the last seven laps it was very difficult to control the situation because my front tyre was destroyed. I don't think it was a bad decision [to use the front front], but the problem was the track was not fully wet."

A ducati isn't going to win a supercross race. Aint the manufacturers fault it was used in the wrong conditions.
What do y'all make of Rossi using the soft front? His wasn't destroyed. Maybe because it took a while for his hard rear tire to get up to temp so he couldn't push the front?

I think that is one of the things that makes Rossi Rossi. This is why he is still able to be competitive in the championship despite rarely ever being the fastest guy on track. Instead of pulling in, he kept on racing and managed the situation. I'm sure his front started to go off too, but he made the decision to stay out, not battle with Cal, and take second. He made the mistake last time of pushing too hard in the rain...wasn't going to do it again.
I think this is also an attribute Marc has shown greatly this year. The more he progresses the more I think he's going to be heir to Rossi...not on popularity but on race craft. I don't think any competitor of Rossi will EVER be as popular. Only when Rossi retires will it be possible for there to be someone as popular as him.
I think there was a camp of riders who rode the race expecting to switch bikes half way through and another camp of guys who planned for the entire race on one bike.
The tires they chose and the way they pushed those tires depended upon which camp they were in. Some plans failed, others sparkled.
Sometimes Julian Ryder is a complete Jackass (although I always enjoy his articles). However, most of the time, he is spot on.

Silverstone was a killer race!
Yes. That was awesome. I actually watched the Moto3 race while I was waiting, and couldn't believe the action. I think over the winter I'm going to catch up on moto 2 and 3.
Moto GP may as well have been a moto 3 race. That was an incredibly entertaining. I'm glad the podium worked out exactly as it did.
The last premier class race at Sikverstone was certainly one of the best I have seen this year. Anyone else in here getting their Motogp fix through Bein channel? Much better than the speed channel coverage from a few years ago.

Anyone here have a clue about what Ducati may have up in their sleeves to replace the winglets in 2017?
