That was a great race. It's too bad about all the drops, but awesome to see Suzuki on the podium again.. and Rossi had some fierce moves.

I think Marquez was saying they just aren't giving any warning before they let go.

I think Rossi just had slightly more pace putting Marquez and Dovi on the limit trying to stay with him.

It was pretty insane how they crashed at the same instant. That had to be a little disorienting.

I replayed it frame-by-frame a few times, and you can actually see Marquez's front tire tuck about .020 seconds before Dovi. Interestingly enough, in the overhead replay, you can see how they were both on an identical line that was about a foot or so wide of Rossi's line.

One of the strangest things I've ever seen though.

Yeah, I typed that before watching any replays, doh! Clearly wasn't a reaction now that I did...

It's interesting to watch all the top riders muzzle themselves about tires that I doubt they are thrilled with

It was spooky. THey definitely both crashed as they crossed that pavement patch. Michelins suck!

Right, but as they lost it at almost exactly the same time, Dovi hit the pavement about 20-30 feet further down track than Marquez.

And I thought Marquez lost it just a hair BEFORE the patch? I'd have to watch it again.

    Re: MotoGP 2016

It's interesting to hear the comments of the Michelin tires not giving any warning prior to letting go. This is the same comment that I had heard about Michelin tires about 10 years ago. Phenomenal grip right up to the point that there is none. Seems like racers prefer the really good traction with a predictable slide at the expense of ultimate traction that turns off like a light switch. Understandably so.

Wonder how many 10s of millions Michelin is spending to be the tire of motogp, with the result being most attentive fans won't want their motorcycle tires?

HOLY SHIT. You weren't exaggerating. I know it's usually better, but that was downright breathtaking.

GP race was great, too bad for Rossi. The J-Lo MM battle didn't disappoint. Great ride for Iannone despite a terrible start. He definitely wins one or two this year.

I'll check out 2 and 3 as the week goes on!

Yeah it did... The wrong one won!

Moto3 was fucking fantastic. Moto2 was epic. MotoGP showed promise early, but then was mostly meh until the last few laps Then I woke up again.

I gotta start watching these races in opposite order... GP, then 2, then 3.

I thought it was a good race all around. While MM was working on catching JLo we got to see a good bit of Iannone on the charge. He's exciting as hell to watch. I had fun watching Rossi keep trying at JLo until his engine blew. Great race.

Wow. What a great weekend. I chatted with my girlfriend, and I think we may need to take a trip to Mugello next year for the races.

That was probably the first time I have ever wanted Marc to win. Apparently my distaste for Lorenzo goes pretty deep now.

I don't get why people don't like Lorenzo. Other than the fact he's just so BORING. Even his victory celebrations feel so calculated. But that guy is perfect on the track.

I don't get why people don't like Marquez. He rides like a friggin animal in all disciplines, never complains, And makes intelligent, insightful comments. Let's face it, at this point he IS what makes any GP race exciting. That used to be true of Rossi...
