    I like Marquez. He's dreamy.

Lorenzo is boring as fuck. Too perfect of a rider. Too calculating, too predictable, too in control. Everything about him is just............ sterile. He's the kinda guy you KNOW you'd hate to have as a roommate cuz I guarantee if you left dirty glass out he'd FLIP his FUCKing SHIT.

I've come around, but it admittedly took a while. His precision and composure this weekend were certainly impressive.

Maybe that's just what he is; unshakable and consistent, which in an action sport, can become somewhat stale by itself. If it weren't for MM's late race hi-jinx, this race might have been more of the same. So I guess to keep the races exciting they kind of need each other, calm and crazy, Yin and Yang, Ego and Id.

In other words, yeah he's still boring, but he's a necessary boring.

I guess I'm just a Rossi fanboy at heart.

Marc's first season, I was rooting for him. Once he showed complete dominance in his second season, I stopped. I like to root for the underdog because I want to see a close championship. The main reason I didn't want Lorenzo to win in Mugello was because I don't want to see him walk away with the championship.

Similarly, last year, I was pumped to watch Jonathan Rea crush it, cause he deserved it more than anyone after years of dedication to an underperforming Honda. But this season, I want there to really be a fight.

    Re: MotoGP 2016

Yeah, if any one rider is absolutely running away with it, I'm kinda "meh" on them. When Marquez was just dominating every race, I wasn't cheering for him. I wasn't AGAINST him, but I wasn't all smiles.

But if it's a hard fight between him & Jorge, there's no doubt I'll be rooting him on. But if it's MM & Rossi..... c'mahn, gotta root for the old guy!

I cheer for legit rivalries, not dominance.

I was trying to figure out what Lorenzo was doing after the race when he was standing on his bike pretending to be writing something with his hands. Maybe writing a check? it was kind of odd. I was bummed when Rossi
s bike blew, but that Lorenzo is smooth.

The quality of all 3 races almost makes me forget about Rossi's engine going. It would have been a magnificent 3 way scrap at the end.

    Re: MotoGP 2016

Finally watched the race last night.. DAMN that was heart crushing what happened to Rossi. That last lap was really something else though.

I wasn't a huge Lorenzo OR Marquez fan, mostly because I want to see Rossi take it again, and I was rooting for Vinales on the GSX-RR but now he's leaving Suzuki so I'm kind of meh.

Marquez annoys me less this year, not sure why. He's got amazing talent.

Starting to like Lorenzo just because he's so damn good. Yeah, Rossi has the personality and the talent, but at the end of the day I want to see the BEST riders. Lorenzo is just goddamn good - he's making everyone else on that track better because they're all chasing his ass most of the time. His mind is focused on riding, not on showboating, and I have a ton of respect for that. Might not get the fans riled up like Rossi but he's earned my respect just by kicking so much ass and pushing the other riders like he does.

The only thing that really gets me irked at a rider is when they are being dicks on the track, putting others at unnecessary risk and not respecting the sport, which is kind of where Marquez seemed to be for a while there, but he's young...

    Re: MotoGP 2016

Some great racing today to balance out the tragedy. All three classes put on a good show and surely made Salom, his friends and his family proud.

Moto3 was awesome as usual. Was pulling for Binder after that contact put him back to 8th.

Moto2 was tough for my boy Sam Lowes. That dude's so fun to watch.

And the GP race was great. I had mixed emotions when Marco made that mistake near the end. I was hoping for a much closer finish, but I'm glad it was to Rossi's benefit. Woulda been a pretty epic battle tho.

It was good to see them shake hands & talk a bit after the race. Def put a smile on my face.

Oh... and holy cow.... did you guys catch the post qualifying press conference where a reporter asked Lorenzo "So who's lying?" and Zarco took over & put the reporter in his place??? I read some talk about it on reddit & dug up the video. That was epic. Good for Zarco. Shut that guy up. Valid question from the reporter but very poorly timed and worded.

If you've got a MotoGP pass, the question came a little after 30 minutes in: MotoGP™

If not, see cliff's notes below.

    Re: MotoGP 2016

If you've got a MotoGP pass, click the link I posted above & skip to 30 minutes in.

If not, a journalist directed a question at Lorenzo. He opened the question talking about how Dorna stated no riders ever complained about the corner where Louis Salom crashed, but Lorenzo said that many riders have complained about the corner... "So, obviously somebody's lying here, either you, riders orrrrr [Dorna]. Where is the truth?"

Marco started leaning in to answer on Lorenzo's behalf, but Zarco motioned to them and answered....

Zarco: "That's a really shit question"... reporter starts inturrupting "NO no no, you must shut up... You are looking for a problem and we don't need to think about this problem.... The problem is done yesterday.... So shut up and keep it for you... Don't find the problem, who is right, who is wrong, because you are - this is - YOU are wrong, that's all."

Reporter: "No, but see, it's not my problem that-- it's the guy who yesterday was alive, and--"

Zarco: "Yeah, this is, this is your problem, because you ask the question. And you try to find the problem, so, YOU are the problem now, ok? So, don't say it please."

The body language of Zarco before the reporter finished asking the question, then his response was awesome.

Then, after a brief awkward silence, another reporter asked Marco about his helmet design to break the tension.

Agreed. Asking for clarification on whether or not concerns were raised in the past is 100% acceptable.... but asking in the way in which he did was completely inappropriate. It was phrased poorly from the very beginning.

Awesome race, Rossi at his best, love seeing him push the kids faster. Soon as he took the lead everyone was putting down their best laps. Bad luck for Lorenzo though..

Great, now he can try to take out the entire field....

Candidly, I've always liked Iannone, and think he's a very talented rider. Then again, I always like Simoncelli too. Iannone really reminding me in a way of Simoncelli right now ... doing stupid shit and not realizing it. I just hope it doesn't take somebody getting hurt (including Iannone himself) before he realizes it. Racing is just as much about finesse and patience as it is about aggression and speed. For sure, Iannone's got the latter part down pat, he just needs some serious work on the former. When he heads over to Suzuki at the end of the season, Suzuki needs to send him to charm school during the off season or something.

Charmed Ianonne is not. LOL. WTF was he thinking? You can't make up 30 yards in a 30 yard breaking zone. Whatever, it was good for the championship race as it has tightened up the points race. So, motogp is producing FAR better racing than moto2 this year. So much for all those theories about same equipment better racing blah blah. I think it has been better than WSBK as well.

The Iannone incident looked like hesitation. It's like he thought about passing...decided not to do it...then threw it in there anyway. That's how I read it at least from his body language.

Moto 2 was boringish, but 3 and GP delivered. That move by Binder on the last lap to go from 4-2 was gorgeous. That dude is on some form right now and handled the post race interview like he's been doing this for 29 years.
