Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
WOW! I put off watching this race until last night, as I expected it to be a snooze fest. Limited passing opportunities and the sprint was pretty boring.
Boy was I wrong! That was great start to finish. I LOVE races with tire management!
Championship is heating up.

You should watch wsbk race 2 from the final round. Possibly one of the best races of all time even though the championship was decided earlier.

I'll have to find it on the internet! I cancelled my WSBK susbscription last year after not following along.
Might save it for when the motoGP season is over and I need some filler to hold me over to the start of next season.

Indeed. I'm thinking Martin closes the gap and whoever finishes ahead of the other at Valencia wins it all.

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
I'm surprised at how boring that final race was (other than the early lap battle between Martin & Pecco).
That track has has several corners multiple lines, its wide, AND tire preservation was supposd to be a part of it, so I was hoping for an awesome finale.
I was so sure Pecco was in tire preservation mode from the start, managing a 1.5s gap to Marquez to keep the front tire cool, and was going to start his charge forward in the last 10 laps. Boy was I wrong.
This season has been OK, the close championship is really whats keeping it alive and exciting. But I do hope they can get a front tire sorted (probably need to make it worse) so they can drop the pressure monitoring and not worry about overheating when following closely.
They basically have 1-2 laps to make a pass before they need to back off and reset.

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Moto3 and MotoGp were fucking awesome. I'm thinking the pressure finally got to Martin. He was struggling all weekend and then the shitty start threw him for a loop. I think Pecco has this in the bag now. Pumped for Digga. He earned this win. Hope he isn't out of the field for long. Always been fun to watch at all levels.

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Mooney said they want a young Moto2 rider. Vietti <sp> is the only rider in Moto2 that's been with VR46... I'd like to see Diggia with Mooney... Diggia wasn't with any VR46 teams etc...

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Martin's rear tire was junk right from the start. Did Gigi Dall’Igna pay someone to switch out Martin's pre grid tire warmer with a defective one. That bike had zero grip for the race start and he lost that tire almost immediately. It was a huge disappointment for me. I was hoping for a bit more race drama with Pecco.

It's suspicious to say the least. back in the day, michelin used to fuck with the outcomes by giving special tires to Rossi, etc.

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
I don't like conspiracies.
I'm going to say it came down to Jorge already having his warning on the tire pressure rule and having to err on the side of caution. Maybe that, combined with the pressure on his shoulders and just having a bad race.
Good finale, I was so pumped for a KTM 1/2 and they blew it!
I wish Digia stuck the pass.
Looking forward to the debrief from the test, especially Marc on a Ducati!

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Seeing Digi got dinged and lost his place on the podium for tire PSI, you may be onto something.
How about MM on the Ducati setting 3rd fastest lap time on the new bike for the first session. I believe 2024 should be the best Ducati Cup year of them all. I am rooting for Marc. I got his autograph on my pit pass at Indy hanging on the framed autograph photo I had to pay for of Rossi. He stopped on his walk to the RV from the pits and took my sharpie and signed it. I know he isn't well liked but I do root for him. Much like the same way I rooted for Lorenzo when he moved to Ducati. You just want to see him get that monkey off his back. I hope he has a year that puts him on podiums and fights for the championship.

I was never a big MM fan, but he is an incredible rider. When that honda wasn't terrible, he rode the shit of it. Excited to see what he can do on the Ducati.

Callin it now: MM93 will be a top 3 championship contender next season.

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
42 laps and he's already in P1. Going to be an exciting 2024

Re: 2023 MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Going to be spicy in 24. Hope MM and JM can bring it this year. Pecco is a great rider but reminds me too much of Lorenzo. Makes it look too easy and it's a bit boring to watch.

I agree, except the boring to watch part. He has taken to backing it in pretty hardcore this year. That never gets old.
BUT, I think next year has all the makings of a classic. If MM can get on pecco's wheel, he has no problem fighting dirty. That's when shit is going to get interesting. Pecco may be too clean.

Argentine GP has been cancelled. Wouldn’t it be cool if they subbed that round for Laguna Seca? A boy can dream…

According to what has been reported by Sports Business Journal, the championship managed by Dorna is in fact in an advanced stage of negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery, with which it is close to making an agreement to give the network the rights to broadcast the 2024 season in the United States.23 hours ago

That would be nice!! Can’t find it on any of Cox offerings here, just bought the video pass.

Re: MotoGP Discussion (SPOILERS!)
Honestly for me VideoPass is the way to go anyway. I can watch as much or little of a race weekend as I want, when I want. The only thing it’s missing is downloadable races. Really would love to be able to catch the racing action on a Monday morning flight rather than spending hours in front of the TV on a nice Sunday.
