Ok.. Here is what I have found so far...

1. This will be for the week of 10-12 Sunday to 10-19 Sunday.
2. To rent an RV to get there is too expensive ~$2500 -$3000.
3. I have found some nice houses for rent in the area in the 1500 - 2500
range, they are all 3 BR 2 Bath houses.. One with a garage and not more than
15min form the track..


I say that we find a trailer (Anyone want to donate their trailer for the week) that we can fit the bikes in and I will tow
them down with some driving help. Who is up for it


Gary and Jay I don't know if you guys are planning on going down there to
race or not.

So far the following people have showed a serious interest and I am pretty
much basing the affordability on at least this number.

I'm working on a potential housing solution for us. Kristin's parents have a couple of timeshare vacation plans and are willing to let us utilize a week. I am picking up the reservation book tonight and will check out some of the places in Daytona. If I can find a large one (more than 1 bedroom) that is available that week, I'll let you know so we can decide if we want to grab it or not. Considering that it is only 6 weeks away, it may be tough to find a place on such short notice, but I'll give it a shot. I also need to find out if the timeshares go from Fri-Fri, Sat-Sat, or Sun-Sun. That may be an issue since we need it Sun-Sun. ??

If we're trailering down the bikes...I'll help drive.

That is great Gordon.. Let me know if there is anything that you need me to do on the timeshare front... If that doesn't work out we can go with the house Idea..

The only thing that we need now is a good sized trailer...

Sorry man...the Time Share option doesn't look too promising. We tried 20 resorts around Daytona Beach and all are booked for that week. There are plenty of places available the week before or after, but because it is Columbus Day weekend (10/13) all places are currently full. We are on a waiting list at all 20 places, but I wouldn't count on one of them opening up.
I have a couple of other ideas...give me a day or two to work on them.

Not for not, but my folks have a townhouse on Marco Island. A few hours away, no doubt. But the price may be right (free). Just a thought...

It looks like we are going to have to get a house.. It's going to be about 1700 for the week.. Divided by 4 is about 425 a person.
