What a surprise. Honda was one of the first to pull the "if you don't want to play my way, I'm taking my toys and going home" routine last year. Oh well. WSBK went through a similar issue a few years ago where all the OEMs left (except Ducati); one by one they came back and now look at the series.

Honda also dropped their F1 team like a hot potato last year. More of an overall corporate crisis that they'll pretend is DMG's fault instead of looking in the mirror.

You misread my post. My 'who needs a marketing guy' is in reference to the fact that I, the 2009 Marketing Manager for Michael Jordan Motorsports, is out of the job for 2010 due to the fact a major team sponsor is pulling out for 2010 (unrelated to our team performance) meaning the team is facing major cuts.![]()

At least Honda supported the satelitte teams and kept some on the payroll for 09.. 10 is a flat line for them.. The last line says is all..
"All assets will be put into storage for future consideration. "
Sucks to hear about the Job Alex, Hope you find something as rewarding as what you had.

i'm not sure losing the factorys is such a big deal. it will be a problem for the next year or so till teams learn to operate without factory support.
lets look at DMGs nascar model...there are no "factory" teams in nascar. you buy a toyota, chevy, or ford than it's up to you to figure out how to make it fast and find paying sponsers. chevy does not show up with special parts and a briefcase full of cash just because you use thier engine.
...despite the fact that i think "no factory teams" can be a good thing.... i still feel DMG is destroying american road racing, but for other reasons. the rules are a joke, they cant decide how to run a race program from one weekend to the next, and they keep trying to kill people with the "saftey" car.
sucks to hear alex. hurry up and find something else quick as we still need the "inside info"

you stole a bunch of stuff before they let you go though right?
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
