So I just noticed on the Asra email, they have the classic scheduled for June 8+9th?
What the fuck? It's always capped bike week and been on father's day weekend.

Bagger race this year too! Again with a big-ass purse...

ASRA Thunderbike has been renamed Thunderbike / Outlaws and now closely lines up with MotoAmerica SuperHooligans rules.
Is there a hooligan class for the classic, Josh?

Not that I've heard? NEMRR's Thunderbike rules last I looked hadn't changed in quite awhile, ASRA doesn't show the Classic on their normal schedule so it appears they're just showing up to operate the Bagger class for NEMRR. Interestingly, they do note in their rules:
"In partnership with the NEMRR the 101st Loudon Classic race will be the
largest bagger purse race ever.
We ask competitors to race the series before being eligible to enter the
101st Loudon Classic."
So... NEMRR going to announce a bagger class for the regular season, or is ASRA expecting bagger racers to show up for other classes prior to the Classic?
Probably the later of the two.

Two sides of it really. Requiring competition in the other rounds rewards racers who have been participating in the series. It also limits potential entries of top talent.
Just saw they are racing at Blackhawk Farms, which I have heard of before, but just realized it’s just outside Beloit, WI. That is a lovely ass quaint as fuck downtown. Other than this round the schedule is pretty achievable for northeasterners.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
I'm not mad at it.
Not sure it affects any of us. Anyone racing a Bagger is already traveling. Although there are two different "bagger" series, so...

Also, looks like Nemrr has the classic listed as June 8 and 9. Not sure what the change is for? I'm a creature of habit and don't like change. It's weird it's not fathers day weekend.

they have had the race at the start of bike week before. Not that I like it but it would not be the 1st time it's been done that way.
Three Bagger series now:
MotoAmerica King of the Baggers
Bagger Racing League (Multiple Bagger based and SH'esque classes, Gunner and Shane race this)
ASRA Baggers
I think I misread the Bagger / classic bit, I thought they were saying “Run NEMRR at least once if entering the Classic” and I actually think it’s “Run our Bagger Class elsewhere at least once if entering the Bagger Classic” which makes more sense. Will be interesting to see who shows up, there are legit factory bagger teams in MotoA now…
I know that they ran the race in 07 on the 1st weekend, I do believe there were others. But your right NASCAR is more than likely the reason.

The NASCRAP race is the 23rd this year. From the way I understood it, they require more time than a week to prepare for that ridiculous event.
However, the whole Rally Week & Classic thing does fall weird sometimes. They've run the Classic the weekend before Father's Day more than once, and the Rally itself has actually STARTED on Father's Day weekend more than once. If it's a funny calendar year, it gets changed around too. If we count Covid, they even tried a half-ass attempt at it (the rally) in August not that long ago.
But look at it this way: It ALWAYS rains Father's Day weekend. It rarely rains the weekend before or the weekend after.

The network broadcasting the NASCAR races is also broadcasting the Summer Olympics. So they moved the race. This took the spot that the USCRA usually has, so we will be hosting the FIM race at Canaan Motor Club June 9-10. There will be no Big Fish Small Pond Endurance Classic this year. The Tower St. Hill Climb will be Tuesday June 11.
