Do you know off the top of your head what you wired that pinch bolt to?
Wire the bolt TO the axle!Plenty of meat to do an angle hole into the axle, and pinch bolt. Just arrange so when wired they're tightening each other.
This is how I do it Drill a hole diagonally through the fork leg into the axle..

I did it as Kurlon suggested, thanks guys. Do I need to do the rear brake caliper mounting bolts? The way I'm reading the rulebook, yes, hoping you all know something I don't.

Bike is all drilled for wire. I didn't break a bit until the last bolt, then apparently saved the best for last and broke 5 on the last bolt. Ended up going through the last 2 free adjacent sides with my last bit for the clutch win! Screwed it in, torqued it down, and got lucky with the functional holes in the right spot. On to bodywork.
Just because it hasn't been mentioned. Have a fuel can. Run whatever you want for Penguin, but for racing proper you need to run fuel bought on property.
I can't imagine this being an actual issue for novices, but I tend to follow rules. Some people just ride over to the pumps and fill up. Others say that makes the bike unnecessarily top heavy. Personally, when I crash I don't want to have 5 gallons of fuel all over the track.
I picked up one of those VP jugs from Miles. Somehow they have gotten away with keeping a vent and not having an overly complicated fuel release system that requires 7 hands to operate (like all of my other fuel cans).
I actually was curious how people manage gas with race/TD bikes. Is there some other way than draining the tank after TDs?
You can run it out during practice and fuel up with track fuel before the race or drain your tank and put it in your truck/car/lawnmower.

Or you can just run whatever you want and hope you don't get tested.

Under what circumstances would a noob just trying to live through the weekend even be "tested"?
Pete. Buy a siphon. Then let me borrow it.
They do the checks randomly, so far I haven't had my name come up but I' due.
For gas cans, I have a VP jug and it's great, I'm liking my 2.5 gal Tractor Supply jobber better. It's got a freaking thumb trigger. Invert can over tank, make sure nozzle is in the hole, push button. Release button when you've reached your desired fuel level. No mess, no vents, easy cheesy.

Both of these work good. The second one can be found at almost any hardware store.
The first one is more durable and has a longer hose so it is more convenient.
FWIW. I've been tested 3 or 4 times.

Fuel is not a concern as of now. You won't be getting tested as a novice. It is worth getting one of the 6 gallon "race" cans, just the lack of safety devices is nice. No real reason to run anything but Loudon gas unless you're elsewhere and run out. It's basically the same price as outside the track and has less ethanol.

I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
I have one of the big VP jugs, I guess I can just try to grab gas each time I'm at NHMS next year. I'll probably buy one of those siphons too. Thanks Adam

Colin - I have one of these http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...uestid=1488443 that you are welcome to use. It's not great, but it works.
I *think* the least expensive fuel at the track is the 93 Sunoco pump fuel. Round 6 it was like $3.999 a gallon. It's not ridiculously higher than 93 outside the track. Since I only need 87, yes, I'm leaving some money on the table by using the 93 for "non racing". Is it worth pumping out the 87 to replace with 93? Your call.
LOL. My 18 YO son, the other day asked if it was OK to use the fuel in that new fuel can in the lawnmower. I asked him what the new fuel can said on it. He said VP Racing Fuel. I then asked if we had a racing lawn mower... Then said it was fine (In his defense I do keep some premixed around for the chain saw that I've told him specifically not to use).
You have an 18 YO that asked permission to do something?

He's actually a great kid. I'm not sure how the hell that happened.
