I forget the actual measurement, but rest assured both front and rear have been set properly for my weight, for racing and for Loudon. Set by a Ducati master tech who takes special interest in suspension geometry and also is a Fishtail Riding School instructor and owns and rides a 1098 and 848.

I've added a factory issue Ohlins rear shock from an S model 1098 and an adjustable rear ride height rod. The front is all stock parts, additional fork oil added, fork tube flush with the stock triples.

The 30mm offset triples will make turn in much less effort and allow the bike to keep the chosen line exiting corners under throttle, which is the 848/1098/1198's weak spot. The Ohlins cartridges with correct spring rate will allow me to have more control in heavy braking zones and absorb the craters at Loudon without upsetting the chassis so much.

Next year a linear rear link will produce less squat under acceleration and the upgraded TTX Ohlins shock will work in concert with the rear link, whereas the factory S model Ohlins I have now is not much better than a factory Showa rear shock made for 2up riding.....

FWIW - Markbuilt switched out my Ohlins springs for free at NJMP and told me it is something Ohlins requires them to do as part of the trackside support deal.

Takes about 5 minutes, I'd check with PK and see if there's a charge to get your Ohlins resprung.

John, I can chime in here.
Mine came with 0.95 springs and I weigh 200 without gear.

I had to replace both forks with 1.0 springs.

Maybe you could get a 0.95 and 1.0 on each, so you'll get a 0.975 rate.

Either way, I have two 0.95 springs for 25mm cartridges in the garage if you need to swap and try them. It's easy to swap springs.

Thanks Jimmy! The seller is sending me .95's so I'm hoping they will be sufficient. If I need to goto 1.0's I'll buy the pizza and watch you work lol....

You don't want to change both springs at once. If you need a different rate, you do one fork at a time. So you may only need to buy one 1.0 spring.

I had .90's in the 650 w/ zx6r front end as stock and I thought they were too soft. Shrug..... I guess everyone rides a little differently.

This I did not know. Looks like I'll be reading up on fork springs while I sit here on overitme....
