evil weasel saved me from having to post a map. My shift points are exactly the same.
Edit: I stay in 3rd through the exit of turn 2 and up shift into 4th before down shifting into 2nd for turn 3.
Updated for current racebike: 2005 RMZ450
This will most likely change a bit more early next season, but for now...

ha ha @ GSXR map!
But wheres the wheelies?
didnt even think of it. not to mention you spent a lot of time on it since you were scared of the 1K :D
6-speed on a motard is actually overkill. It's way too much shifting. The 5-speed tranny is the hotspot for motaaaards.
Why I oughtta!!!!
I agree. The katoom was a 4spd in stock trim... all I did was add 5 and 6. 1-4 kept the stock gears. If I did it again I'd see what was available to change 1-4 as well. The bike pretty much requires short-shifting. It does tend to get in the way... It's ready to upshift when leaned over way too much (2, 7, 10/11, etc)
is that why i lapped you twice on Zacks motard?:D :poke: j/k
:D you did no such thing!
um, did you?
:sad2:
you probably pitted in. then went back out just in time for me to pass you:D
OK im done bustin your balls.........i think:D
yeah yeah... pitted in cuz you were holding me up, man.
Tricky you can do more shifts at once if you rev that mo-tahd out. Let it sing...................it's a dirtbike. Grab gears, let it hummmmmmmmm.

this is exactly how I shift.... I should short-shift 5th at the end of the straight, and short-shift 4th at the end of the back straight though...I do sometimes but I don't normally. I also hit the rev limiter coming through T7-T8 sometimes. Thats with 15/49 gearing.
Dunlop slicks here. Same size.
Originally, I *think* I had the 49 on the bike (need to check my notes). With the suspension unsorted, it felt like I was shifting everywhere with the 49. So I put the 48 on and my shift patterns matched my '03 R6. Though the '06 would bog sometimes, at least the shifting was in a comfort zone for me to focus on the suspension. After I got the suspension sorted out towards the end of the season, the 48 felt good as long as wasn't following anybody (low to mid 16's with open track). The minute I got stuck behind somebody, however, I was stuck and couldn't get a decent drive out of any corner to keep up to try and make a pass on a slower rider going into the next corner. I wanted to try the 49 (again) but I had left it home in the parts box.
