Spare wheels or pit bike?

If you are going to ride the rain, get the wheels. If you have to make a last minute decision about tires, having them already mounted could save you the cost of crashing or entry fees for missing a race or two if the tire peeps are backed up. Im selling my pit bike and gonna look for a set of used wheels

+1, spare wheels w/ rains will pay for themselves the first time, or couple, you need it. If you don't have em, and decide not to race... you'll save the risk of crashing, but you're still SOL with your entry fees. It's really a no-brainer. You can get a Pitbike whenever, and I'm pretty sure you'll end up getting one anyway...

Well... this is exactly the opposite of what I expected.

I DO understand the importance of having a spare set of wheels... But they aren't any fun...

Thing is, spare wheels are very fun! Use them to mount rains, intermediates or whatever you like. Hell, you can even mount some brand new hoops in preparation for your current ones to become shagged.

If you get a chance to race in the rain, do it without reservation. It's amazing what rain tires are capable of.

I would get the pit bike, if you want to get anywhere on the track quick it is the only way. I also use mine at my house.
