Uh, Gonzo? The LRRS *IS* supported by the AMA. And if I remember correctly, the NESR 600's were eligible for TWO supersport classes...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Ahhhh newbies...
Degsy was saying how honda won everything this year.
I was saying that Suzuki won the AMA Supersport title this year.
See??
Last year honda didn't win any titles: "shut out".
Next year Degsy is going to ride whichever 600 he thinks is best. And I'll bet he's right! Just if it is a honda, I'm going to rip on him for it!!
And yes, you will see me Sunday...at least my plate.![]()

I believe 'Zooks took the AMA 600 & 750 Supersport championship as well as the 1000 taking the Formula Extreme title....

I've said it time and time again..If Suzuki or Kawasaki put as much $$$$$$$$ into a racing effort as Honda has, they could buy the State of California!
But proof is in the pudding....
If you want to know what the best Bike is out there, Keep track of the "Limited" Classes.
If you have only a maximum horsepower/ weight restriction, you will see which one rules!
I've watched Honda Blow more engines and dump more money trying to get by an outdated, limited funded Suzuki...It's about time they won Superbike....
Ducati RULES!
Nope, actually our races are sanctioned by the AMA also. If I went to an ama superbike meet (say VIR or Daytona) I could race in the supersport class. Next season when I have my expert license I can enter the AMA 600 supersport race and be on the grid with Aaron, Kurt, Miguel and all those guys.Originally posted by gonzo6

Gp rules and thats where the action is
ducati,s don,t rule shit they are overpriced pieces of crap for the money that is being asked for them.
A friend of mine has a 2 yr old ducati monster with 7k on it and he has had nothing but grief with the thing , his last ride on it he discovered a crack in his swingarm.
Hey Mick!
I toss in a Honda hate mail now and then to get Degsy going...
Looks like I hooked another one! LOL!
I do agree, that the rules are all screwed up...
Everyone is trying to satisfy the masses...
What comes out of the factories, are totally governed by what's running on the track and the rules that go with it.
Gp rules, are now allowing everyone to get into the action.
I wonder what that Aprilia/Cosworth 3 cylinder sounds like???
Damn shame that the 2 strokes are falling to the wayside though.
What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday!
From what I have read/heard about the new Kawi 600, it should be quite a contender, as well as the new Honda 600.
Suzuki thinks they are safe, but I don't think you will see them sitting too long!

I agree with you Mark, the new Kawi and the new Honda look awesome. I just bought a bunch of british bike mags to get the FULL reviews (not the one page crap you get in sport-rider over here) and make a decision on what I want to do. One thing is for certain, if I go 750cc then it's Gixxer all the way. 600 cc is definitely a new bike, but which one I don't know. I will NOT go with the R6 as I think yamahas are too delicate to race. Beautiful, fast bikes but too delicate for racing and they take A LOT of suspension tuning to get them to work properly. I wish that Suzuki had revised the GSXR600 THIS year (for 2003) along with all the other manufacturers as then I would not have to worry about them making a kick-everyone's-ass bike for 2004. Now I am in a catch-22 situation. If I buy the Honda this year and the gixxer 600 is a better machine, then I am screwed for 2004. If I wait for 2004 then I risk the gixxer either not being revised or being a bad bike (doubtful though). Decisions, decisions.
By the way, Gonzo. The 600cc bikes are SOOOO badly matched. Look at the race results for Loudon LRRS races last year. I have come in 23rd place before (in an expert race) and been the FIRST honda to finish. Gixxer, gixxer, gixxer all the way down the list. The GSXR600 is about 20lb lighter than the F4 and has about 10 more horsepower. With Yosh cams and a full exhaust you can get 120 HP out of a gixxer600 believe it or not. That is worth 2-3 seconds at Loudon (enough to get you a race win as opposed to a 10th place, as sometimes there is barely 20 seconds between 1st and 20th at the finish).
