Took first place in NV PTWN after one hell of a battle
Did a 1:28.5, my best ever. Great way to end the season.
Hoping for some yellow plates to start next season![]()
Thanks tonyNo, it's my second first I believe. Took another first earlier this year, but this was the first one I had to fight hard for and that made it all the more sweeter
I was kinda nervous 'cuz my mother an her girlfriend were in the stands, but I guess that was good motiviation after all. BTW they loved watching the races and I may need to contact you in the off-season for a pair of TTD gift certificates (they both ride). You know I wouldn't send my loved ones to anyone but Tony's for their first days![]()
2nd, AM ULSB. Hard fought with the new blood, I'm sure they'll have some damn good battles next year!
Nice job Chris! The ULSB race today was great. Best of luck next season in EX, I'm sure you'll be fine.![]()

All in all it was a great weekend, bumping up was the best thing I could have done and the Ultra Light race was the most fun I ever had, going back and forth with Chris and Scott. Also ran a 1:21.4!!!! Great way to end the season. Is it April yet?
Sat
9th AM Thunderbikes (which was dead last) with a fast lap of 1:24.76
Sunday
7th AM LWSB should have been a sixth but I lowsided in 11 but picked the bike up to finish and I wasn't LAST! (more on that later)
10th AM ULSB The most fun I have had all year! (next to my 2nd place) Absolutely loved being on the same grid as the 1a crew!
Still coming to grips with the Duc but will be less intimidated with AM next year now that I have paid my dues!

Last - MWSS (got stuffed bad on the 2nd lap going into the chicane, front tire locked up and i basically just dropped the bike, got back up and re-entered the race)
14th - MWGP, had a fun fast race....wasn't worried about where I ended up but I ran my fastest lap at 1:16.3
6th - MWSB, only like 10 guys showed up on the grid, but it was a fun race, had 5th for a while after passing adam rickard and kip peterson at the same time in T1....then adam got me back on the 7th lap. I was only 1 second away from my first expert trophy.
had a great weekend....lots of fun. I finally picked up a rear shock (penske) so once I get that in I'm headed to VIR at the end of this month to test it out!
DARRELL WENT FASTER THAN ME!!!! DARRELL WENT FASTER THAN ME!!!!
Congrats bro
I took an uncharacteristic 6th in LWSM and 4th in PTwins.... doesn't sound all that bad, but when you look at number of entries & number of guys that crashed... it's not all that great. Not sure why but I wasn't really feelin it & was 5-7 seconds off my pace. Think it was mostly due to the weather even though it was dry by the time i raced. I just wanted a safe ending to the season.
Had some good racing in PTwins though... lotta close clean racing... got some good side-by-side action for the fans in turn 6 when Charlie Tarna put his shoulder on my leg exiting the bowl... and some other close battles here & there w/ a few other guys.... so that was fun.
All in all, a great season when you take into consideration how it started
PS, Sorry I forgot to call you w/ updates, Clayton.

I did get a 1st in UNSS, but the race was cut short because of crashes/time, so they just made it final and I was leading after almost 3 laps. I got a great start and put alot of HWSS riders between me and the other UNSS riders, so that helped me.
I tried a new tire this weekend that miles had, and I just couldn't get it to work for me. I struggled with it all weekend. Finally went back to my norm for the last race and just got back down to my times on the last laps. I appreciate Miles giving me the opportunity to try that AMA Rear tire, if I was a more refined rider I'm sure it would have been great, but I just couldn't make it go.
Ran out of gas in GTO (a first. and last for me), 12th MWSS, like I said, 1st UNSS, 7th MWSB, 8th HWSS
HWSS was a great race with my bud Jamie Roberts ... came down to the last lap, but I held him off in 11 and going into 12. Its been alot of fun racing with Jamie this year and we have pushed each other to go faster this year. Can't wait until next year! I finally got back to an 1:18 this race ...
Disappointed in my performance for the last weekend of the year. I learned a WHOLE lot this year though, and not crashing at all (except being taken out once) was a huge improvement for me. I'm preparing to come back next year as an AM as I still have some work to do, and this weekend wasn't an example of what I am able to do.
I want to thank Erin first of all for everything this year. It would be so hard to do this without her. Thanks to Neal and the entire DNF/ECK-Racing crew for all the support and fun this year. Thanks to the entire Tonys Track Day Crew for all their support and advice over the year. Thanks to PK at GMD for all his help and "don't be a pussy" attitude, and Miles at Street and Comp for putting up with all my questions all year long.
Looking forward to 2008 and hoping to continue the good progress and keeping it on two wheels.

I did the Penguin school Friday, and the rookie race on Saturday. I crashed on the warm-up lap Sunday morning during the GTO, fixed the bike and got back out. Then won the supertwins. I ran a 1:20.0 and a 1:20.8. Great weekend, great people.

Which gave me third overall for the year as a first time Expert. All this and missing 3 races. Not bad if I do say so considering my competition are or have been past ULSB Champions.
