Anyone have a workout routine tailored for track riding?

Look at crossfit, shorter super high intensity workouts like a sprint race. Each workout is measureable so there is an added competition factor. Ive been doing it for a year and a half, and I went from fat and lazy to one of the fittest people you probably know. I saw a huge difference in my riding over the winter break last year. Its hard as shit, but its fun so its easy to stay interested.
Mountainbiking is my whole-body workout of choice. Also in<out, calorically.
That, with lots of stretching, will get you ready for just about anything.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
If you do P90X you will be in sick shape. It is NOT easy though. I just finished it. Here is a video (not me) Short of this extreme life changer lots of hilly mountainbiking but you really have to do long coasts with your knees way out holding your weight to simulate getting off the bike. Check out the write up in Roadracing World 2 months back about Elena Meyers work out agenda. Was pretty interesting- a lot of core exercises, stability exercises, strength training. No doubt cardio/stamina is a big factor....I hope to get a mtb and start training better in that department soon.

I can only afford to go to planet fitness, but they have a 30 min workout that I like. I double up (1hr) 3 days a week. Cardio and high reps builds lean muscle and stamina.
I do between 30-40 reps each set.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Nothing gets you in shape like riding motocross....and it reinforces some riding skills at the same time.
When I rode AMA Superbike, our races were about 45 minutes long on a 1000cc Superbike....definitely enough to wear you out (plus tear your hands up to the point where they would sometimes blister and bleed). If after training I could do a 45 minute moto on my 450, the Superbike was no problem.....and I had a lot of confidence when sliding it around.
Crossfit gets my vote. It's expensive to do it at a Crossfit gym, but a lot of workouts you can do yourself. And like mentioned above you can mesaure the performance. Crossfit has helped me a TON over here, got me in great shape (esp doing it at 7200ft). Main reason I support it is because it definately saved my ass when we got ambushed (having to move around 600 meters in full kit!)
You've got me there, at your age I was involved in an occupation a little less cerebral and a little more vigorous....
(I'm right under the bottom of the flag. Weighed 230 the first day of the course, weighed 193 50 days later....)
I had a program for hockey that involved core strength, balance etc. So I'll stick with that.

What the hell people. I already posted a couple very serious workout routine vids:

Seriously though, I joined the gym at work and been working out during lunch time. Great time man. I'm thinking about starting workout/cardio class - should be fun
Lately my workouts have consisted of 20 minutes of cardio and about 40 minutes of weight training. I bought some Reebok Runtones and I gotta tell ya those things really work. Cardio for me usually consists of running or jumping ropes.
My neighbor did the PX90 program during the winter. The guy visibly lost about 40-50 pounds.
I've been playing hockey 2-4 times a week and started playing lacrosse again, but I want to rebuild some core strength.
I basically started eating a Cro Mag diet and got an app for my phone that counts calories and logs my weight. My goal was to lose 2 lbs a week and that's been working for 6 weeks. Just have to keep doing that until mid July.....

Oh, and I did crosssfit as well...holy crap batman crossfit is AWESOME. I got into the best shape of my life at age 37, after being a pretty fit ice hockey/football player pretty much year round till I got out of high school....
1st day of crossfit I puked my guts out and had to get a ride home, my head was swimming so much. After doing it a while my diet snapped into shape all by itself!
Just kidding about "Cro Mag" just google paleo diet or cave man diet.
The app I use is called Calorie Counter by Fat Secret It runs on other devices as well, or you can create a login using your PC. It's been quite helpful for me.

I ride the dirt bike on weekends not racing. I swim and ride the bike at the YMCA. Road bike now that it's nice out. Headed out for an hour on it now.

I have to test this at the track this year but for 9 months now, my workouts have been:
- More circuit training (lifting and cardio combined)
- Cardio on non-lifting days (swimming, running, elliptical)
- A lot of stretching and abs in between the lifting exercises. I believe that stretching and building core is a hidden secret that everyone pushes aside but will do wonders.
