I'm thinking of getting them but I no longer live in a crimey neighborhood so I think they would only be useful after a GTA-style theft. Anyone have one on their bike and if so has it been worth it?

so title should be AirTags. I was looking at both tiles and tags today. Seems like the tiles would be useless for this, but the tags might be worth it.

I think you're able to edit the title if you click "edit post" then click "Go Advanced" but I edited it for ya anyway.

I had the same thought, but apparently they alert someone if they're in close proximity and you are not, and they appear to be traveling with whatever the tag is on. So if someone with an iPhone stole your bike, they'd get an alert shortly after that they're traveling with an airtag that doesn't belong to them.

Yeah, I don't care about that. I'd prefer a theft recovery to never found again.

• Never put trackers on shared objects such as a family car without consent.
• If you find an AirTag you think belongs to someone else, open the Find My app on an iOS device, go to Items, select “Identify Found Item.”
• If you think a device was put in your belongings to track you, disable it immediately and take it to law enforcement.
• Avoid driving a 1999 Honda Civic, one of the most easily stolen cars in the United States.

Bumping this. Traveling a bit this year and am looking at using something like this to track my luggage (bicycle). Has anyone had any experience with these in luggage? Looking at tile pro or similar as I have a pixel (apparently airtags have very limited benefit when used with an Android device).

They work really well for this purpose: when things get accidentally lost/mishandled vs maliciously.

I literally just received 4 airtags in the mail yesterday. I am going to use them to track some tools for work. I'll update this in the next month or so...fingers crossed they work well....

We have four AirTags. If you want to guarantee you will never, ever lose your car keys again, just put an AirTag on them...
