bike hesitating around 60 mph

when i got out of work today i was riding home and when i woul hit 4th gear around 60 mph my bike started really hesitating, kinda like bogging it kinda fels like rite when im in 4th and im going 60 or faster it fells like the bike barelty has any power, jus started happening out of nowhere

Check

Battery terminals - make sure they are tight and clean
Spark Plugs - inspect for signs of proper wear and check the gap
Coils - Look for cracks or signs of electrical arcing

Am I getting this right that this is ONLY happening in 4th gear? That's an odd symptom and I don't know what to make of it other than some type of timing retardation malfunction for that gear.

Fuel for water
Good flow to carbs.

What do you have for fuel delivery system? Manual petcock or vac operated? Vacuum operated fuel pump or gravity?

and spark plugs are pritty fresh,where are the coils located?
and the recent wrk ive done on my bike was a streetfighter headlight swap and ziptying some witres to the frame,could it be that i used regular gas instead of supreme for like the first time?

Possibly, however I don't think that detonation would cause such a dramatic loss in apparent power. What grade of gas does the bike call for?

If you have a power commander on completely remove it and see of the symptoms go away. That is exactly what my rc51 did when the power commander failed.

The coils are either located on the plug themselves (I doubt it for that year but I don't know). Follow the spark plug wire back to whatever it is connected to. You will probably have two coils, though there may be four.

Yea in addition to what slammp said, can you give us a description of the bike with engine related mods, mileage, and the like. I am assuming it's a 1996 Yamaha YZF 750

no theres no power commander on my bike and its under cruisin,i can haull ass until 60 mph im thinkin it has to be something electrical

Before you get too into taking things out or disconnecting start with the easiest.
The battery can cause this.
You may have a damaged cell.

Test the battery for it's voltage and health.

Ask yourself.....
How old is the battery?
Did I let the battery discharge recently?
Did I jump or charge the battery recently?

batery is kinda new but it drained out accident when i lleft in on last month ur right maybe i should take the bike for a nice long ride 2moro to se if it recharges

It may not charge enough.
It's possible to damage a ceLl if you had to jump it.
Idealy you could test the voltage. It should read around 13 volts.
Most shops have a battery condition tester that can test the cells in about 1 minute.
