    Ducrappy question

I know someone with one of those fancy overpriced Panigale's.

He's saying the bike won't rev over like 7k when he first starts it, but it fine after like 10 minutes of riding.

Is there a rev limiter or pit lane toggle on those that prevents high RPMs when the bike is cold?

I've already told him to junk it and buy a gsxr.

Geez, you mean you can't fire it up and do rev limiter burnouts without riding it a little?!! That's SHITE

No, he's actually a respectful rider.

I'm assuming it's a mapping thing, but I don't know ducati's or twins at all.

No, not limiter that I know of, and I owned one. I would take it in for warranty work

Does the exhaust note change once it 'frees up'? I wonder if there is something going on with the exhaust valve servo?

I wasn't joking about my GSX-R. Turns out the problem was the secondary control. They weren't opening.

Not sure how this would translate to your friends duc but it could be worth a look.

    Re: Ducrappy question

As a possibility: Several years ago I had a flakey fuel pump on my 12R which wasn't producing enough pressure. The bike ran fine up to 6K and then fell on its face because it wasn't delivering enough fuel. Replacing it made everything better.

Could it also be the extremely tight tolerances when cold. I know my Pani was very rough when dead cold and it revved poorly until warmed up.
