    Braided brake lines..

Whatchall using? I put Russels on my NighthawkS, they were on it for over 15 years, I never regretted it. No more spongie rubber lines! Nice! They're taking this 1200S apart to do a 7500 mile on it, tires, the new pads, all that, might as well get the lines put on and flushed while they're at it!

But I don't see Russels advertised these days. Is any brand better, or same-same?

    Tx!

Spiegler...nice lines and if you like different colored lines / banjo fittings, even better.

    http://www.spieglerusa.com/

I got mine for $145, dual front and the rear line. They make clutch lines too, but those aren't included.

    Re: Braided brake lines..

I had Galfers on my SV and loved em. They made the brake lever feel a lot better, the lines are much nicer quality than OEM, and Galfer provided me with good support.

I stand behind Galfer and stock them, but Goodridge are great as well.

    Re: Braided brake lines..

I wound up telling them to put the Goodrich lines on it. Also told em to put a new maintenance-free gas recombination-tech something or other battery in it too. Jeez, with the new RoadSmart tires and battery, brakes and lines and 7500-mile service, tuneup, plugs, wires, carb-synch and valve adjustment, my $4000.00 1200S with 3100 miles on it is gonna be $5500.00 out the door!

Ok, now can anyone think of ANYTHING else I'm forgetting?

I don't get the bike until Thursday. There's still time to spend some more money!!!

Sounds like you need to start saving the coin for a turbo
    Insta-death

Maybe some NOS but I think the turbo would be way cooler. Just keep the boost pressure low. At first anyhow

Turbo..Really? I used to work with those on A6 Intruders, except they used em to power air conditioning rather than boost power. They drew hot air off the 14th stage of the engines and decompress it to make cold air to chill ECM boxes and the cockpit. Air Research made em. They turned about 125,000 RPMs, and cost about that many dollars when they fragged.

A turbo, eh? Nah, better not. I dunno where this bike stands in the cosmic circle of speed, but compared to my NighthawkS, sounds like I got all the ticket potential I need just as it sits. Anyone know what this thing, in top form, might wind out to in an all out top speed attempt? I don't find any top to bottom reviews on the thing when I snoop around looking. Old issues of Cycle World and Motorcyclist from 2002 aren't floating about anymore.

The only other thing I could think of to replace was the chain and sprockets, and the service manager said the stock chain was all it needed with on 3K miles on it. He also told me if he WAS replacing it, he'd go with Suzuki OEM 530 chain AND sprockets. Anyone buy into that?

Tx fer the advice on this thing, doods. Jeez, I been around three days or so asked a million dumb-ass questions, and only been goofed on a couple of times! Yall have been most informative. Reckon I'll have to do that supporter thing. It's a great board.
