    ex250 carb cleaning: this afternoon/evening?

Just removed the carbs from my fiancee's ex250, but I am unsure of how to proceed: what to remove, what to clean, what adjustments to make (if any), etc.

Anyone available to walk me through this? Would be much obliged. I'm in Roslindale, but can bring carbs, Oktoberfest, and some homemade salsa.

PM me, and I'll shoot you my number.

    Thanks.

Flip them upside down and start by removing the fuel bowls. Drain and clean. Then carefully remove the float and needle. You will see two jets, a main jet and a low speed jet. It's most likely the low speed that is causing you issues. Clean it with a wire. A twist tie from a loaf of bread works good. Reassemble, reinstall and try in. DO NOT adjust any screws on the sides of the carb. Best to do one carb at a time if you are unsure of what you are doing.. for referrence. BIKEBANDIT.COM has exploded views of your carbs

Having the right screwdrivers is a very good idea, as is having allen-head bolts (4mm x 0.75 x 16, I believe, but it's in the FAQ; what's not in there is that you need 8 of them) to replace the tiny, easy-to-strip float bowl screws.
