OK got a question I talked to R7 about running a 190 for a rear versus the stock 180 he said should be ok.. Than i post the same question in a R6 forum and one of the kids had this for a reply
I would be more concerned about tire/chain clearance, it is damn
little on a 180! The 190 is, of course, 10 mm wider or .4", or .2"
(almost 1/4") closer to the chain, too close for MY comfort. Once the
chain has ground off the extra rubber you're good to go!!
How can I check this to see if I am good to go or not ???
Thanks in advance Jen
why do you want to go to a 190? wouldn't it make the bike turn slower and have a heavier feel?

Jen it wont fit, I tried to do a 190 on my old R6 for the dragstrip.....Saaaawwwieeee
I've seen R6's with 190's on them, they do fit. Eric from the Vt rides, had a blue 99 R6, he had a 190 on his. Yes, the 190 is 10mm wider than a 180 but it is also going on a rim that is 13mm narrower than what it should be on. It won't "look" any wider than the 180You can check fairly easily if it will fit, messure the distance between your chain and the tire you have on now, if you have more than 5mm (half of the 10mm size differance) it shouldn't be a problem. But again, the 190 won't actually be 10mm wider on your R6 rim. Follow?

Oh, and for tire to chain clearance? My R7 has less than 1/8th inch between the tire and chain and i have had no problems. I also upgraded to a 190 from a 180 on the R7 but it has a 6.25" rear rim.

OHH man well my new chain is only a 520 I guess I gotta show this to chip and let him figure out the math I just ride it...and he put in a new sprocket combo and new chain so I can only guess what my bike is going to feel like with all the changes...But, thanks for all the imput I will let ya know how I make out :cool
OHHH boy.. sounds like I got some measuring to do... oh well if it doesn't fit it just means I got another tire to go on my "spare burn em up rim" WOOOOO HOOOO![]()
UMMM that means I can burn yours off and leave my bike off the burnout bored so I won't have to pick the rubber off the undertails for weeks later

I duh no? Maybe it didnt fit because I had a 520 conv. with 2 up in the rear????
