    Re: Help with chain install

I just bought an RK chain tool for < $100 and plan to use it as if I know exactly what I'm doing... otherwise, I figure the tool will sense my lack of experience and break on first impact with the chain. I mean after all, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night (OK, well I watched a 3 part YouTube video on using a chain tool).

Now for the rest of it:

I'm set on a DID chain
    Anyone recommend some sprockets?

I use DID ERV3 on Drive System's Superlite RS7 520 rear and JT's steel front sprocket.

Pieced it together myself and paid about $200 total.

I like supersprox personally, mostly because they look cool but I get good mileage out of them as well.

Just don't use the tool to break the chain, use a Dremel then push the pins out.Or better yet just cut the chain entirely.

The pins should last a long time if used properly.

I agree with this. At a minimum, grind down the majority of the pin "head" and then use the tool... the pin will pop out easily and put virtually no pressure on the tool.

It's been forever and a day since I have bought a chain:

    EK-SRX -OR- DID VX

Both are x-ring type sealed chain... so I suspect the answer is either.
