So Mark(TLRMan) came over this morning...

Began workin' on the bike at around 10:30, beginning first off with the TRE. Mark directed me as to what to do, how to go about it, and even got his hands dirty gettin' it done. So with the TRE finished, told me to take it for a spin and see what I thought. And wow, what a difference that alone made. Just that eliminated the stumble by about 70%. Got back, and then began tackling the throttle body synch. Completely removed the tank, airbox, flapper valves, etc down to the throttle bodies. Hooked up the synch tool and got the throttle bodies nice and even. Then came the throttle position sensor. Mark got that dialed in nice, and then came the airbox modification. Modified the filter plate, as well as the stock filter, and began putting everything back together. Went through the bike, made sure everything went back together as it was supposed to, no spare parts, and I took it out for another test ride. The result......

    NO MORE STUMBLE ISSUE WHATSOEVER!!!

Chalk one up on the board for Mark. The man is a whiz with this bike. Extremely smart in every aspect of the bike, how every single thing works anf affects all other components, as well as being full of tons of knowledge of plenty of other subjects, non-bike related. It was an absolute privelage having him come over today to wrench on the TL. Now I'm going to go enjoy this beautiful day on my freshly Mark-tuned TLR. Cheers everyone

Cool!!! I spent my day range-aiding(and first-aiding, yeah someone got hurt today) a local MSF class.

Glad you got your TL sorted.

Good to see we have another satisfied TLR owner!
We just gotta do that one more thing I was telling you,(air temp sensor), and it will behave quite well.

Just bring your bike up here to my house so I can ride yours, while I'm finishing putting mine back together. Not much more to do, but gotta get into the Zone when I do it, and it's gonna take a couple of hours.
I may do some stuff today, if I feel like it....

John just shot me a PM of how the TLR performed once he got it out on the road for a couple of miles, and this is what he said....

"Hey Mark, between yesterday afternoon and today I've done about 250 miles, and man the bike runs great. The power is absolutely incredible, and delivery in the lower gears is much smoother."

I think Yoshimura only got about 150-155 out of their WSBK.
So....Nope....But we are reducing some rotational mass, and a couple other goodies...She'll turn up even more quicker now...maybe next year IF I have time, and the space, we may see it close to 140. The TLR is probably one of the most expensive bikes to turn up the burner on...Friggen $600 for camshafts! I just gotta sort out the valve train, set the clearances, and button it up...

Just an update..... fuel consumption has improved by 5-6 mpg since the work that was done Saturday. With our current fuel prices, that aint a bad thing at all!!

Are we shooting into the pond for fish?
When removing weight from the flywheel you gotta not be greedy and take too much off....
There are other things that can loose mass without compromising integrity.

    hey Rye...
Just doing some stuff I've been meaning to do for a while now...nothing fancy.
I just love getting at the top end on the front cylinder though....At least I don't have to screw with cam chains. One good thing about a hybrid valve train.

Is this work done, Mark? Or in the works?

Now that the motard is done...I'm paying more attention to the kawi. I'm thinking of re-loading the 750 and spending some time big-boring the 900 to a 950. Zlock is claiming 160 on pump fuel with their setup. I am also thinking 5-angle and lighten/balance/knife-edge. Fuck it, it's a stock motor with heaps of potential. I have a line on WSBK spec adj. cams too!

In the process of working on the tiller I got lazy last sunday, and said Fahk it.
I was looking into a +2mm J&E pistons/Web Cam with adjustable sprockets, for a later project...Engine will have to be dropped for that one, along with bore, and replating....I'll have to reset the squish area all over again, but that's part of the procedure anyway....Spears has the different thickness base gaskets available.
But the way the price of gas is going again, I may hold off. Would be swinging upwards of 13:1 + compression ratios.

Bottom end can handle the extra juice? It's gonna scream. Forgive my laziness...what will +2mm take it out to? You're gonna love the adjustable cams...right up your alley.

Well, if we do it, it'll be a TL1037R....
Bottom end will be OK, but there are some nice rods and Falicon cranks out there. But I don't own a bank either...
If we keep the revs down to where they are, it'll stay together.
