    No Neutral

Ok, lets hear from the more technically proficient than me:

Single sided swing arm with a reverse threaded big nut to hold the rear wheel on. Had to repack/check the rear bearings over the winter and that nut was STUCK. Anyway in getting it off i had spun the rear wheel 4-5 complete rotations while in gear with a breaker bar. Fast forward to yesterday when I took the bike out of my workshop and transferred it to my 1/2 garage to get ready to re-register it and ride and I cant get it to go into neutral. I rode it down my street in 1st and 2nd gear no problem and it sounds fine(no unusual noises). I can also shift between all gears standing still with the engine running but I cannot find neutral at all and I don't even see the green dash light flicker as I go by where I think it should be. It has been mentioned on an MV specific forum that I may have bent a shift fork/rod - and I plan on contacting Eastern Cycles in Beverly this morning, but am looking for any advice. I was hoping everything might re-position itself if I took it for an at speed ride up the highway, but also don't want to further damage anything.

    Duc 749/999 03/04?
    Bleed the master.

7mm nut inside the clutch master open it a crack and watch for an air bubble.

    Its hydraulic clutch related.

With the key on, but the motor not running, you should still be able to find neutral and see the N light flicker if it were a clutch problem. Doesn't sound like a clutch issue to me.

Next time use the rear brake instead of the transmission..
