For those of you that are having your tires mounted on the spot, how are you doing that, towing, friend following?
I'm cheap, so if I can save a few bucks by taking my wheels off and bringing them to him, I do that.. No worries last time I think I was maybe there 10 or 15 minutes for 2 tires mounted..
I looked at the manual to try and do it myself but last thing I want is something to fall off at 80+
Make sure you tell him your from New England Streetriders when ya call him...
:stupid: If you do you'll get a Free Popcicle and a Sticker..:hellyeah:
Called Jim yesterday afternoon to set up a time to get 2 new tires mounted, I just got back about 15 minutes ago and they are all done, great guy and awesome service, very careful and professional about his work. I will def. be back there.
was just there yesterday..
Looks like it's now $20 per wheel off the bike and $2.50 per tire for him to dispose
He tried cleaning the adhesive off the rim from the old weights. Seems Triumph painted instead of powdercoating the rims (I didn't know). Whatever he used, it took off a patch of paint.
Just got back from having jim do the tires, rode there with tires on my back $55 I'm back on the road. He was a really cool guy too.
really nice guy, i brought my rims/tires down last week and i was in/out of there in like 20 mins.
met Jim this weekend, new tires, great guy, great service. Only charged 60 for 2 tires on the bike.
I just visited Jim again yesterday and he mounted two new Avon Storms on my '03 Bandit 1200S. He has had a slight increase in his prices, it is now $25 per wheel on the bike, $15 per wheel off the bike.
I also got the bargain of the year inspection for $20. All said and done, I left his house street legal with new sneakers on her for a mere $75.00 (two valve stems - $5). Can't even touch that kind of service and reasonable cost at a stealer with a neon 10 foot pole and a couple strippers.
Thanks NESR for the heads up on Jim's service, I'm barely over $120 in cost for the two seperate tire changes he's done and an inspection.
:shredder:
Where is he at?
I'd like to know the location (town, state) so I can have an idea of how far he is for me. I definitely want to utilize him as they charge a ton more at a local dealership.

hmmmmmm
sooo, this is at a guy's residence? Yea, youre right, i didnt read the entire thread...
hmm, i might try and use him when i need new shoes (prob at the very tail end of the season), he's only 40min N of me (straight up 93), and i'm sure there are some interesting twisties that i could take instead of slabbing...
Jim still doing it?
Call him ahead of time to have the tires shipped to his house so you dont have to make two trips like i did, lol
Just got back from Jim's. Brought him my tires off the bike, I was in and out in 25 minutes!! He did a great job and was cool to chat with. He only charged $20 per wheel off the bike and $5 tire disposal. I cannot believe how fast he got them done and I only called him Thursday night!! I highly recommend him!
Has anyone had this done recently? Is he still doing it? Figured I'd ask here before calling him out of the blue..
