    No spark?

As many of you know I dumped an f4i first race weekend and have been slowly getting it back together. Now I get ready to start it, and theres no start. It gets the starter noise, but then just wont kick over. Im 99% positive its getting fuel, I dont think theres any spark. The bike was hydrolocked, but we got that cleaned out. It HAS started, but usually takes a while of trying to get it going. We tried spark plugs that have been verified to work, is there somewhere I should start? Maybe electrical? Any ideas?

How are you positive its getting fuel? I would check the fuel tip over sensor....

    No spark?

A few people that know more about bikes seem to think its getting fuel and fuel is definitely making it out of the fuel pump. And the bike has run since its been over, its just having trouble which leads me to think its electrical.

    No spark?

pull a plug, attach the wire, hold it near the frame and press the starter button. if you see pretty electrical arcs it's getting sparc. if not it's not

I was informed by the owner of the bike you will be hitting 100+ on next race weekend the spark plugs are ok. For your sake you better hope he knows what he's talking about. haha

sweet. the question is... will it wheelie down the hill into the bowl and what's the best technique for keeping it down? (drag the rear brake? less throttle?... that last one can't be the answer)

so the plugs are good. does it run?

I would have no idea, ask the owner, although he tends to keep it a little TOOO low going into the bowl. By too low I mean dragging plastic.

Nope, doesnt run. The starter tries to get it going, but it just wont kick over.

well. if it's getting spark it must not be getting fuel. since it's once of those fancy fuel-injected motorcycles i'm no help now. maybe plug in a laptop and do something with the powercommander?

If you want me to have a look at it, bring it down to me in Taunton. I know 'a little' about those bikes. Reasonable rates, and I have a spare F4i race bike here on stands, so I got spares!!!

    PM me if interested.
