I've been ordering from them for a while now. No complaints whatsoever. I had some hesitation when i first ordered my self. Especially because they have no phone contact...everything online. But everything i order comes in when they say and they get back to me with any questions i send them. Good people in my book.

I've used them for a while.

    1. No clue when things are going to ship. Their guidelines are "loose" at at best.

    2. You don't know if something is backorded until you order it. Then you have to wait until it comes, they don't ask if you still want it.

    3. They will cancel backordered items after quite a while of it being on backorder status without asking first.

I'm not very happy about ordering a bunch of stuff that included some gaskets and a braided front line for the racebike only to have the backorder cancelled on me for the brake line a month later and the gaskets being "not available". If they weren't available, DON'T LIST THEM ON THE WEBSITE. If I knew the backorder was going to be cancelled, I would have been able to find another brake line a month previous.

Thanks for the input, guys. Looks like most of you have had good experiences with them. But I agree with Iglu....their backorder/cancel/do you still want this item? policy seems fucked up. Like he said, if you dont have it, dont list it. I went ahead and ordered a bunch of stuff from them yesterday for replacing my CCT assembly and related parts, plus valve cover and oil pan gaskets, etc. Keepin' my fingers crossed they have the shyt!

Also, I went to GBM yesterday and ordered a DID 530/112 chain, front sprocket lockwasher, and air filter element. Total was about $215. Not TOO bad. Ive priced the chain online, and GBM was within 15 to 20 bucks, so I reasoned that I'd spend the extra 20 bucks to buy locally, and also....if they fuck up the order, Ill be right there at the counter to talk to a person, not an online "contact us" wall to get my grievance taken care of.

The only things left to get are the front and rear sprockets. I went online to Sprocket Specialists...found what I needed, filled out all the online ship/card info....hit "submit"... and I get this message about the order not being processed, error, etc. So, I logged out/logged in to check my order status, and none was listed. But you know the 'net...Im calling them Monday to make sure the order isnt active, and my info isnt "out there".

GBM has JT and Sun Star brand sprockets....I have NO idea if theyre dependable or shyt. Ill see what Sprockets has to say Monday.
Oh! And then theres tires to buy.....gonna check out the posts here to get up to date on whats a good choice. Pilots, Dunlops, the list goes on.....Thanks again!!

Because you have to adjust them more often, they wear out much quicker, and any performance that they offer is so minimul that no rider would ever be able to tell.

My bike specs call for a 530. In researching them, a number of sites also list the "maximum" size engine each chain is suited for. The 530 is rated for 1000 cc's, while the 520 if I remember correctly is rated for a maximum of 750 cc's. Not sure if this is BS or true, but I wasnt taking any chances getting a 520 if its not rated for a 900 cc, like my bike. Every site Ive checked has my 900 Ninja as using the 530, with a front sprocket teeth count of 16, and the rear as 44 teeth. Anyone have any opinions on either Sun Star or JT sprockets? BTW.....thanks again for all the useful feedback!

    Bikebandit ordering...

I love Bike (Butt) Bandit. There's nothing like a customer that brings in his shopping list of parts from them and asks "Can you match or beat this pricing?" Don't get me wrong here. I'm also a consumer and understand the price of the sport we choose is high. I describe myself as an "Indentured Servant Paying of his Parts Bill"

The pricing from Bike (Butt) Bandit is usually at our cost or just above. But....My absolute favorite thing is when someone wants to return something to me when they got it from Bike (Butt) Bandit "What do you mean I can't return it hear?"

My next favorite thing is when people come in and try on every piece of gear in the store, knowing full well they're going to order on-line, and write down notes. They leave without purchasing a thing. That takes some balls.

It's also wonderful when they come with a problem or questions about an accessory or parts purchased from this lovely place. My whole point to this is it's always nice to deal with someone "Face-to-Face" so when and if there's an issue you'll have someone who will talk to you direct and resolve the issue in person......"Buyer Beware"

And I realize I'll get "hammered" by the "Dealers are out to rip off the consumer" crowd. Not every dealer is the same and I suggest you find a good one and build a relationship with them and you'll be much better off in the long run.

There...I've said my piece.....you all have a lovely day!

I called every shop within 20 miles of my place. Nobody stocked HJC AC-12's. Except Cycle Design. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went there expecting to pay full MSRP.

Tried the helmet on. "You don't want that one, you want one of the new Joe Rocket helmets". No thanks, I want the HJC. "They are the same helmet, HJC makes them for JR." Ok, then I still want the HJC. Do you have a medium? The large seems to fit a bit loose. "No, we can order you one though." Then how will I know if it will fit? "It will. Or you can just buy the Joe Rocket."

So I went home and bought a medium online for 50% of what they wanted. Which, incidently, was $60 OVER listed MRSP.

Bob, you have to understand what most of us are used to dealing with. Be patient and treat your customers right, they will keep coming back. I would of paid the price if they had one in stock and knew MORE about the helmets than I did. I don't go shopping to teach an 18 year old (hot) chick about helmets who is supposed to be teaching me.

    Bikebandit ordering...

Oh, Joy!! All the CCT parts and other stuff I ordered from BikeBandit have been shipped.....all except one. Its the front chain guide that tracks the cct chain....they shipped the rear one....you'd think the front would be in stock too! Bastids. Their backorder policy gives them 25 days to come up with it after which theyll cancel that part. I aint waiting 25 days! When I schedule to do the work, Im doing it, with or without that part. hopefully it'll be in by then...or Ill check with a dealership for it. Anyway, GBM should have the DID chain in this weekend too.

Heads up....I tried to buy my sprockets online from SprocketSpecialists w/o any luck.....some sort of website glitch. So, I called em yesterday and spoke to someone who said that it may be the host, and when they have any probs, Sprockets is affected. So....theyll ship by next Tuesday. Im mentioning this so that anyone here who uses them online and has the same issue....call and order....and watch your credit card statement to make sure you arent being double billed! Have a great weekend...temps near 70....ride safe.

Good to know this site is legit. I just ordered about $100 worth of stuff I've been needing from them. Fuel Tank Prop Stay (missing at time of purchase), Spark Plugs, Mityvac, a Clutch lever (very tip is broken off). Although I couldnt seem to find any Brake Fluid on their site! Of all things.

    Bikebandit ordering...

Well, I have all my parts from Bandit...no problems at all. The back ordered part arrived a few days later. I still havent received my sprockets from Sprockets Specialists, tho. I first ordered them over 2 weeks ago. A week later, no sprockets. So I called....they said they had my mailing info....but didnt have my credit card info! WTF? So....I re-ordered. Its a week later.....still nothing. Im calling them tomorrow. If they say they havent shipped yet, Im cancelling the order and getting them from GBM instead. Ill be checking my card statements real close, to be sure. I'd recommend Bandit anytime....

EDIT: Sheesh!! I couldnt wait...I just got off the phone with Specialists....they said it would be another 2 weeks to get my order! That will be nearly an entire month of trying to get my sprockets from them. They said their inventory showed my part at MINUS 8!!! 8 that they dont have!! I just ordered Sunstar sprockets from GBM....theyll be ready to pick up in a week. Pays to go local sometimes!

Sprocket Specialists fucked me like a hoooah, never again.....

530 chains comes stock on a 'busa so they are good for more than 1000cc's.

Chains are rated by tensile strength. If you find a 520 chain with more tensile strength than a 530 it will strrrrretch less and require less adjustment.

Oviously you must switch to 520 sprockets with the 520 chain.

    Regards, Jake
