Friday morning started off with 2 bikes that weren't ready for practice. I figured that I would get the EX500 ready first and run that bike since I had not ridden it in a long time and we only had 1 practice. While adding water we found a leak out of the water pump and after taking off the water pump cover, discovered that the stud that holds on the impeller was sheered and could not be replaced. EX500 is asleep for another weekend. I didn't have time to get the CRF ready at this time so I skipped practice.
My first race was race 3 super singles. Before this race happened we had to do a rain dance. We got out on the track and then it started raining. They sent us in for a tire change but we decided that it would be best to stick with the slicks since it was just a small rain storm. I got a good start and settled in behind Trevor Chiappisi and Chauncey Viera. A few laps in Chauncey decides that he hates his bike and he throws it down in T1A. I had to brake pretty hard to avoid him, but I made it work. At this point with 5 or 6 laps to go Trevor had checked out and I just rode my own race. That is until with about 1 lap to go I turn around and see Chauncey. I wick it up a little bit so he doesn't catch me and grab 2nd place as I get the checkered. Glad it stayed dry for me.
Ultra Light Weight Super Bike was another rain dance. Again we were given the option to go change our tires and again I stayed with slicks. We had hopes that the rain would taper off just as it had before. I got a great start and grabbed the holeshot from the second row. In T2 of that lap I almost highsided myself to the moon, and AJ said afterwards that he thought my rear tire was in front of my front. Yeah, I now realize that it is wet and slicks don't hook up in it. AJ passed me on the back straight before T3. Coming around T12 on that same lap I almost highsided myself to oblivion again but somehow remained on my trusty steed. Last lap in T12 I was coming out behind AJ. I still can't believe he didn't crash. But I ended up with another 2nd place.
Saturday I practiced on the tard.
In GTL I got an amazing start and took the holeshot. I knew that the faster SV guys would be knocking at the door waiting to get by so I really tried to push it. Somehow I managed to keep Matt Calhoun behind me for a whole lap before he passed me. Mike Weyant also made it around me by the 4th lap after I took him for some defensive lines ahahahaha. Motor on the straight ftl. I tried to keep up with Mike but he just slipped away into the distance. I ended up with a solid 3rd place in GTL, throwing down a lap in the low 22's.
The motard race was tons of fun and very challenging. All the reference points that you use in the bowl for braking and such were useless and I had to grab 3 downshifts in the T6 area instead of 1. On the start I was all the way in the back since I didn't qualify and I settled into 3rd place after the start. I had a solid lock on it until about lap 4 when my front master cylinder reservoir bracket broke in the dirt section. I didn't want to get brake fluid all over the track so I opted to pit in and got a mechanical DNF.
On Sunday I was bored so I signed up for Light Weight Super Bike. First start Chuck stalled in front of me and I barely missed him. 2 riders crashed when 1 lowsided into the other in T2, so we got red flagged and sent back to the pits. On the second start I was able to squeeze between Bill Morey and Chuck Boucher and was 4th into T1 I think. I picked off KB on the brakes going into T1 on the next lap and got Brian Cooner on the lap after that to get 2nd. Then Wes Perry passes me on the front straight I believe. I follow him around and try to keep him close after he motors me on the straights. The sv may have power, but I catch right back up with him on the brakes as I can latebrake like a mofo on the black weapon. On the last lap He still is in front. I am just following him hoping that he will make a mistake that I can take advantage of. In T6 he slips a little wide and I have just enough room to sneak up the inside of him and make the pass. I run full throttle as often as possible to keep him behind me and do until he tries to pass in T12. He comes across the inside and totally blows the line, so I have to check up. It looked like he was headed into the grass so I throttle up and take 2nd place while putting down a 1:21.3!
I just wanted to thank Dave for helping me with my long ass valve adjustment and wanted to thank Pete Gaboriault for all the help this weekend. Also thanks to Jay for helping with the valve adjustment and to BK for helping bleed the rear brake. Also thanks to all my sponsors in my sig below. I tried out the new woodcraft tire warmers this weekend also and they worked flawlessly and are apparently more beefy than the previous warmers. Thank you to Adam Clark for the gasket also. Never would have been able to do it without you.
This weekend was a huge success and I am really hoping that I can get into the 20's and beat my PB next weekend!

Congrats Christian. I have no idea how a 70 pound guy on a skinny ass 'tard can make such fat lines! I had a bitch of a time getting around you :-p Well played, sir! Well played!
Also thank you for bailing me out with that rear tire warmer, which incidentally I still have. You rock!
Congrats again on a fantastic weekend for you, we were cheering for you like crazy in the tard race!
