ECK #82 Round 3

I got another good run of great starts, but lap times were a little off this weekend. Fortunately I made it work where it counted for the most part (at the finish line). Doucette was on his game as always, Mullin was cruisin, Brian Kent came flyin outta no where since climbin on that new SV of his and Frisbie & Cucinotta won the 15 lap war of attrition in ASRA Thunderbike.


Friday:
LWGP - 3rd

Saturday:
GTL - 3rd
Doucette, Mullin, Gaboriault

LWSS - 2nd
Doucette, Gaboriault, Dages
This was one of the shorter, but more exciting races... I got the holeshot but was promptly passed by Doucette exiting turn 2 where I was having some issues getting traction. I managed to hold off Dages and actually gained ground on Doucette when we hit traffic. I got about as close to his rear tire as ever making some well timed passes, but the race was cut short after 5 laps by a red flag. Woulda made for an interesting race though I'm not sure I woulda been able to keep up.


Sunday:
LWSB - 4th
Doucette, Kent, Mullin, Gaboriault

ASRA Thunderbike - 6th
Doucette, Kent, Mullin, Frisbie, Cucinotta, Gaboriault

Qualifying for ASRA Thunderbike didn't quite go as planned as my one hot lap was the final lap and timing stops as soon as the checkered waves, so it didn't count. Good news was I was gridded 8th so even if I was on the 2nd row, at least I was on the outside. I still got into turn 1 in 3rd, side-by-side with Scott Mullin but he had the edge for 1A and took the spot. Brian Kent took the holeshot with Doucette on his rear tire. That's the way it would stay for a number of laps until Doucette took the lead and I slowly slipped back to 6th. 15 laps was a lonnnng race and I wasn't quite able to hang as my lap times slowly slipped back into the 20's.

Nice job Petah! Nice job getting out front early and staying there. Way to stick it out till the end even though you were tired. The lap times will come back down soon enough.

You're doing great against some really tough competition. Not to mention that use built bikes for the non-SS classes and you're doing it on a SS legal SV. Pulling a 3rd out of GTL and GP is nothing to sneeze at. You're damned fast!

The key is being IN the friction zone as the 1 board starts to tilt and going WFO as soon as the flagger so much as twiches. As soon as that happens, it's all clutch modulation to keep the front wheel skimming on the ground.
