Re: LRRS AM 365 Round 3 Report
I actually tried it at a track day when I first got my slipper as I had no idea what to expect. My motor builder said just slam it down and go so I did. At race pace AFAIK I'm only getting to the top of 5th on the straight, dropping to 3rd into T1, may tweak my gearing to use 6th and get a bit more drive out of the Fizzer.

Well, I reach 6th on the straight! I'm just not silly enough to drop to 1 for 1. 4 downshifts to 2 is all I need.

12 & 13 are slow corners, so you can't be carrying too much speed on to the straight? You in 2nd gear out of 13? or 3rd? If 2nd, you really wring out 3 gears and shift into 6th before having to break for 1? What do you ride if you don't mind me asking?
I suppose the better question I should ask is what top speed are you fast racers hitting on the Loudon straight?
Re: LRRS AM 365 Round 3 Report
I'm on an RS125, which is a purpose built race bike, so 1st gear on that thing is like 3rd on a street bike. I exit 12 in 1st, and hit 6th at the 4 board. (The shifting gives me something to do as I go down the straight.) At that point, I'm at about 100 mph.

Get used to the back skidding out if you can. Just let that shit dump and feel the back go in practice. I kinda enjoy the feeling. After that you can work on slipping it out withou the fear. You already know the worst that will happen. Also down shift as late as possible without upsetting the chassis on turn in.
