Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
Oh...and Bergs, I ordered all my little rubber, paper, and metal bits today. Ronayers.com was awesome, I got real humans on the phone, they checked with Yammy on all my OEM stuff regarding availability, and are quick shipping it guaranteed to me by mid week next week :shredder:
I'm going cross eyed from squinting at schematics diagrams :)
Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
You had me at "little rubber".
Don't tell Greg

In Brett's defense, you did put a shit ton of $$ parts on that 10 year old dual-duty bike. Nothing wrong with that, but ya did.
Gilles rearsets and rizoma grips is like 700 bucks right there...
Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
Chris...is this thread about work I did on the bike a year ago? I don't think so. I stated that I had a used transmission on the way. Brett said... where did you get all this money...and it was a wierd statement considering I was buying a used transmission and $50 in gaskets and lock washers.
And the grips are driven grips, at about $50 bucks for the set. Unlike you, I don't have a newer well set up race bike. And unlike Brett, I didn't recently purchase a newer bike for the track. So back the fuck off. I spent my tax return last winter on my bike, big fucking deal. I don't see you jumping down anyone elses throat because they have aftermarket rearsets. Seriously guys, you need to lay off.
Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
Wow take it easy guys! She makes very lil money and loves her bike, besides all the money she spent was for needed upgrades like replacing her bent foot pegs steering stab etc..
Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
sheesh no need to get defensive, was just saying brett may have been referring to the plethora of aftermarket parts on the bike... whatever, nevermind...
your money is your money and i didn't criticize you for spending it. I bought a brand new street bike and it's now a race bike... i spend tons of money on bikes.

whoa hey calm down a little. my initial comment was said in jest really. and yes I did purchase a new bike but it was my tax return from the last few years.
I swore this year I was gonna do less track days and save more money. Yeah I think I jinxed myself when I said that. Done more track days and spent more money on it than any year before and I even took my bike off the road to try to save some money. so I'm guilty of spending a ton also.

exactly. been a lot of money put into that bike in the last year on some nice parts and a new addiction to the track which gets expensive is all I was saying.
didn't mean to start any shit with it. I'm sorry if it came across that way.
Re: Rookie weekend -NV #629 Round 7
i vagely remember getting a lot of shit for putting a ton of $$$ into my street bike the last two winters. nothing wrong with it (like chris said), but it was a waste. like everyone said to be before, i should have just saved the cash to buy a race bike.
lauren, i predict that over the winter or sometime next season you'll end up buying a dedicated race bike & you'll understand what everyone has been trying to say.

Lauren, don't listen to these fools... buy more parts and then sell them to me at half price when you get a new bike :teehee:

Unfortunately my "new" bike if I get a track bike will also be a 2000 R6 :teehee: That way I can swap parts if needed, lol.
Ah Richie....
I told you I could send you small dogs, maybe we could trade for that trailer if you still have it?
My new plan is to gather all the dog hair from my apartment, knit it into sweaters, and sell it as free range, low impact, locally made goods to all the earthy crunchies in JP where I work to fund a race bike.
