Have to make this a short one because I'm at work, but basically I had much more fun this round than last. My second weekend as an amateur and I didn't come in last place in all my races, and I even beat my pb w/a 1:22.3!
Yeah, it's still slower than where I want to be, but I'll take it.
Race 1 Sat. I felt good, got the best start of my career and was in the middle of the mwsb pack. Tried to make a pass in the bowl on the outside, ran out of track and had to lean in over real far to avoid going off the track, but ended up lowsiding into the gravel. My bike doesn't look pretty anymore...boo hoo! DNF, but beat my pb.
Race 10 Sat. I got a bad start, was a little shaky after my crash, and getting used to new clip-ons... my times were slow but I managed to beat a few guys to the line for a 12th or 13th.
Race 1 Sun. I felt like I was going fast, but the times show otherwise... I was just happy to have finished the GTU and when I came in the board said 18th out of 26 so I thought I did well, but apparently the board was wrong. I took 5th out of 5 or 6 guys who started the race, but it felt good to complete another gt w/out incident, and my endurance is getting better. Also, during that race I started to put some things together as far as lines, reference marks, etc... . I might not have gone super-fast, but hopefully the experience will lead me in the right direction.
Thanks to Low Down Racing for all the support this weekend, and anyone who took the time to chat about racing... see you next round!

22's is no joke Brian. Sorry about the lowside but it sounds like you have learned from the experience. As long as you continue to do it all those little learning things add up and before you know it you are haulin the mail!
Glad you are alright after your off and congrats on a new PB!

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
You looked great during the practice sessions, Brian.
Keep up the good work out there!
Keep up the good work, Brian. Remember, this is still your rookie season, you're doing damn well. Constant learning and determination, you'll get where you want to be. You're looking good out there, just take it one step at a time.
And as far as the bike goes, now it looks like a RACE bike.![]()
