it been a while since it took it out. I gutted the carbs and adjusted the clutch on the GRC Gp to help donate some $. I was in it for the Fun factor. Big fat guy on a little bike....
After a long wait for the legends we had to wait for the ramps to b set up. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! no suspension and there is no way in hell can I stand up to absorb anything.
They get things set up for a couple of laps. We roll out. Not even 1/4 a way thru the bikes dies. I roll along the wall trying to get away from the ramp and everyone launching off of it. Pull.. pull..pull. Nothing.. I push it beyond the track to get out of the way. I do some more pulling and pulling. I fires up rough. WOT it seems to like to scream. Something must have clogged the slow jet. I see that they are setting up the start. I run on out. WOT. I come around the last bend and I see the green flag for the first wave and it looks like the pit bike wave. I feel like I’m Cole Trickle in Days for thunder. I see the green flag drop as I round the last turn and I am at full speed at the start finish line. I pass Lou in T1. I keep SCREAMING around just having a good time. Trying to figure out how to ride this thing again. I get passed buy Dave O and think I can settle in behind and watch the sparks fly. I'm behind him and in T1 and T2. We come up on Eric and Denny fooling around at the S/F line and he gets slows down because of the two of them playing around. I lead him into T1 and he comes around me on the outside. I drop the hammer and am closing on him. I get within less than an inch of him on the right side as I pass him and lead him into T2. I'm right on the barriers. I begin to think, Dave is going to try the outside of me again.” I'm going a little faster into the turn and thinking, Dave, “don't try the outside of me!!!!!!!! “ I see a shadow and all I hear is metal scraping (centerstand). I look over and the bike just pivoted on the centerstand and lifted the rear tire off the ground and I see Dave’s foot out style just get planted into the pavement and swing him down backwards (lowside). I roll to the checkered flag and roll around to Dave. I get to him and there are a couple of people there. I pick up some of the debris. The medics are on scene. I tell them his name is Dave. They sit him up and he’s sees me. " I was coming for you Gino." Grinning.."You almost had me buddy” . good to know nothing was broken but I know he took a good bum on the head. I saw him later on in the Bus and he was going to take a trip to the hospital.
Later that night by the fire Adam got the call and we with motob went and picked him up around 2:00 in the morning.
Good times considering what happened to Dave. I was thinking about selling it. But I don’t know now…..I like it for these little events… and being the clown on the little bike…
What should I do?
Post up the Pictures, Vid and other stories… I KNOW YOU’VE GOT THEM….
I had vid of th erace and of Dave. on the transfer to the computer it did not come across. DAMMMMMMMM it... I deleted the file onthe card before I checked the transfer. total loss. SO sorry. I learned a lesson with this...

I was happy to hear from Dave on sunday that he was ok other than a concussion and some bumps.

I am glad it wasn't more serious. I think it's funny we get more hurt being big kids on small bikes. ( that's funny weird )
Loved seeing you out there on the little thing buddy...and the running start was classic![]()

My weekend was a wash due to YOUKNOWWHAT...so I was super stoked for this race.
I think I got a good start, but hard to tell. No real power in the TTR 125, so I just keep it pinned in 4th gear all the way around. Definitely was feeling the rear tire squashing on the transitions, but later found out I was sliding the rear all over the place. It's the knobbies. It would explain why I found my self on the ground half way through the race in turn 1 watching my bike slide across the track. I look behind me...all safe...get up and run to the bike which is running still, but stalls when I pick it up. I notice it's leaking gas, but try to get it started again before the race is red flagged. Couple kicks and I'm good to go. Start down shifting into third into the corners and counter balancing the bike. Seems to work. I realize I'm totally out of contention with my crash, so try and pull big air off the jump with a small bike. The crowd seems to love it. The suspension was actually surprisingly soft.
Good time. Good times.
I'm glad David was okay.
