How do the older 150F’s compare with the current 125F big wheel? The latter are like $3,600 new.

The 05 and earlier 150 motors have all the aftermarket hop ups. Newer bikes not so much

    Re: Honda CFR150

I thought I was going crazy. I wanted a 125/150 for the family to mess around. Reached out to maybe 20 different people through facebook. Was amazed at what people wanted. People asking few hundreds off MSRP for bikes 5+10 years old and nobody wanted to budge or were just flakes. Was told by a dealership that Honda wasn't making 125s right now and that TTR 125s were like a lottery ticket for them to get through the door. KLX140s seemed to be the only bike in my area that was available but even they seemed overprice when I calculated everything out the door. Ended up finding a good deal on a used CRF but it was a pain.

The good news is that there is FINALLY a new generation of riders being minted.

Jesus, at the going rate for one of this little drum braked, air cooled, steel framed, ancient tech bikes, I'll just wait. This is bonkers.

Pretty much where I've landed. Going non-moto, pedal only for the whole family is looking pretty attractive right now.

Yup same in Ca...maybe worse because of Covid and mini Moto

I remember when 100cc rear drum brake bikes were $300-$400

Message each seller directly, regardless of their asking price, in a neutral way to get them to respond, claim you can come right away, then play to their emotions to make them feel good by chit chatting about whatever their interests are. then low ball them and talk about how it’s in their best interest to sell it lower. If they figure out you’re a scum bag play the victim and start name calling and insult them until you pay a lower than asking price and walk away pissed. Re post the bike at a higher price a week later. Blame any issues on the previous seller, even if you did it. Claim it has a new top end and that you have other people coming. Be super flaky with responding and just ghost people randomly.

^ used internet bike shopping today in a nutshell LOL

I don't remember that. a 150 has always been worth 1500 bucks here. In nearly any condition.

I remember when you could get an older xr100 for $400ish that needed a tire, brakes, etc.

it's madness. was shopping for upgrades from the PW50 + 80 but eventually bailed. not only are prices high (for the decent ones) but you gotta hustle or they vanish.
