Not optimistic I'll find what I need on here, but figured I'd throw it out there after seeing xrocket's sweet lil TRX90
Looking for "his and hers" quads for our place up in Maine. I don't know shit about these things, but here's what I think I'm looking for:
His: 4x4, bigger CC, winch, trailer hitch, e-start, not a huge pile of shit
Hers: 4x4, small/mid CC (350?), auto, e-start, not gonna leave her stranded and hating quads
They'll mostly be used for tractoring around central Maine's not-so-adventurous trail system, as well as fun and chores on our 5 acre property.
I'll obviously buy them separately, but figured a 2-fer deal might be an option. Bonus if they can come with a trailer as I am not sure I can get two quads in the back of my 6.5' bed (though maybe...). I don't think I have a brand preference, but want something legitimate (read: CF Moto or higher). Don't care if they're carb'd or FI. I don't need anything lifted or with wild wheels and crazy mods. I have no idea what my budget is, but let's say ballpark $2500 apiece.
power steering is worth it

I'm assuming you're talking more about utility type wheelers...
I'd guess that at those price points you'll be looking at 10-15 year old wheelers in the 500cc and smaller range. Personally, I'd so much as double the price point for yours. Hers, not so much.
That said, I've been running a 400cc Arctic Cat since 2007. I think we all know by now it's primarily what I use for snow removal, dragging small trees & branches, hauling shit around the props, lugging firewood, leaves, etc.
Besides using the winch to operate my plow, it's come in very handy more times than I can count and more times than I ever imagined. Just about every wheeler I can think of comes with electric start now. Power steering I can do without. I dunno, I guess I just like to feel the terrain. PS just isn't my thing.
If I had to go out this weekend and get something to replace my current one, I'd shoot for 600cc & up - probably shoot for a 700cc or 800cc. Again, with a plow & winch, proper trailer hitch. etc. I also prefer a manual trans (with or without clutch), which is increasingly hard to find as you look at newer rigs.
Unless your truck bed is 10' long, it's highly unlikely you'll get both in there. I have the short bed on my Silverado - 5'9" with the tailgate up/7'9" with the tailgate down. There's no way in hell my 400 A/C can fit with the tailgate up & I can fit the Raptor in only if I deflate the front tires. My wife's A/C 250 (2WD) fits with the tailgate closed with *JUST* a little room to spare.
EDIT: For what it's worth, this is exactly what I'd be looking for although it doesn't seem to come with a plow:

Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Stoneman loaned me his 400 Arctic Cat one summer before I had my UTV (maybe 2 summers) I used it to drag my otter sled filled with firewood, it'a a beast, something I have noticed, the 400cc class atv/utv is a workhorse class, bigger ones are more recreational, and another fwiw, many of the Arctic Cat models are rebadged Kymcos, buy the Kymco for $1500 less

I should get the 2001 sportsman 500 4x4 and 2001 Trail Boss 325 2x4 going.... Sportsman just needs a choke cable, trail boss has carb issues....
I've got a 2004? Sportsman 500 'HO' EFI, thing is a work horse. It's not fast, but it just keeps trundling along with basically no maint. Bit of piston rattle/knock but not smoking, still going after 10 years so I'm just going to pretend I don't hear it. About the only money I'm planning on spending on it is a new cutting edge for the plow and contactor for the winch. Maybe... we'll see.
The front quad is a 2010 Sportsman 850 with power steering and the rear is a 2023 Suzuki King Quad 400 with no power steering that belongs to my brother-in-law. For bombing around in the woods, the newer 400 has plenty of power but the lack of power steering will give your arms a workout on tight trails. The Sportsman is a beast. Tons of power and is easy to throw around with its power steering. Biggest complaint is there's so much engine braking with the 850 and the clutch doesn't allow for any freewheeling so when you let go of the throttle, you slow down aggressively. Apparently there are aftermarket clutches available that address this but I've been unwilling to spend the money.

We have a can am outlander 650 and it is pretty strong. Made a hay ride for my kids birthday out of my walk on trailer. Pulled plenty of drunk adults plywood and hay around my neighborhood with ease. With just me on a dirt road I think I got close to 70mph on it. Midsized utility quads seem like more than enough for normal stuff.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
I have a can am 800 outlander 2-up. 3 levels of power steering, none, little assist and full assist. Full assist is good when I am plowing. I go less assist in the woods. On dirt roads it's scary fast v-twin EFI.
I rather plow with it than my truck it's so easy to whip around my driveways.
y'all know more about quads than I expected! time to rename the forum??
My Sportsman rips it up to 66 mph .
Honda’s , Polaris , Yamaha all rock .

my UXV450i is governed to 49mph, on flat ground, I can pull my 1000lb toe hoe and still hit the 49mph rev limiter, up an 18% grade, maintain 30mph, it can yank a good size tree from the woods to the log yard

Fasted indicated on my aforementioned little ol' 400 was 44MPH. I actually pull from my buddy on his A/C 700 a bit at the start, but it only takes about 0' before he's passing me handily. I chalk that up to mine being a (clutchless) manual while his full-auto 700 has the original stock clutches.
