I am looking to buy a ladies leather racing suit to take to the track this Spring, either one piece or two piece.
size 42 Euro or size 6 US. For a better idea I am about 5'7" and 120lbs.
Armored boots (size 7) and gloves (size medium) are a plus!
Thanks!

Hey Jen
Have you tried anything on yet? I'm 5'10", 165 and wear a Euro 42. Feel like that might be a little big on ya.

I think you may be referring to men's racing suit sizes. I wore a ladies size 42 Alpinestars two piece suit that I borrowed from a friends daughter and it was a bit snug on me.

I could borrow Oreos suit and we could both fit in it at the same time?

yeah yeah blame that....
FWIW I have a 44 a* (5'6", 135-145 depending on the meal), so yeah you would probably be a 42. I'm not selling, just confirming size.....you'll probably have a tough time finding good used women's gear, but I'll keep my eyes out for you.
I am looking to upgrade my boots though (currently have some A* that I think are 7.5s if you wanted to give them a shot. I got a smoking deal on them used and will pass the deal along. They're comfy enough on the bike, but I mostly ride street (track days are sporadic, but hopefully becoming more common) and they are about a half size too small, which is not good for walking around. Let me know if you want to try them.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Good used women's gear is definitely difficult to come by, I am realllllly hoping I can come by some by the time Spring hits. What size do you typically wear for shoes on an everyday basis? A* boots seem to run a tad small, so I am thinking the 7.5 may fit nicely. Do you by any chance have pics?
Annalisa is 5' 8", 120 and we tried the 42 A* route last year. It was pretty tight in the hips and chest, even without a back protector. She measures 36-27-37, if I remember correctly when we did the measurements. And the legs were a bit short on her. Of course, she has a 33" inseam (an inch longer than mine and I'm 5' 11").
We ended up going the men's 38 route. It's a little looser and allows for a chest/back protector to fit inside.
Yeah it is always so hard to tell without trying one on. The size 42 leather 2 piece I wore once was an A* stella octane suit. It did fit a bit snug, but I would worry if I went to a size 44 it would be too large because I am a bit "lanky" so you could say. I have not tried on a one piece before though.
Have you looked on eBay? You can set a search based on size and description.
Used race suits sometimes go at bargain prices.

Go to your local shop and see if they will order one for you to try on. Be specific that you will not buy it without trying it. I was very clear when I ordered mine and they got it in for me based on my measurements and sizing and it fit perfectly. One pices can be tough unless you are proportioned "correctly" (and that depends completely on the suit).
As for my boots, I am normally about an 8-8.5....they may feel about a size small.....I don't know, it just isn't comfy to walk around in them all day, but riding they are totally fine. I don't often wear shoes that are too small, so I'm not a good judge of that I guess.![]()

Another vote for trying the suit on. When I bought my suit I would have ordered a 48 and would have been wrong by two sizes. I ended up going to the Street and Comp show room and trying suits on. We tried a 48 first and I could not even get it above my waist. Then a 50 and I could hardly breath. Turns out they did not have a 52 in stock but they happily ordered me one.
For you in Maine Seacoast might be worth the trip to find a good selection of leather to try on.
The older I get the Faster I wuz
and yes i think i should make a roadtrip to a shop to try some on, I am just hoping something used may come along through the winter.
Maybe try this one...
Haha but seriously...I'll keep my eyes open.

Do you know Lori Shaw? Check with her she might have one for sale........
Are you doing track days or racing?
Much as I love Seacoast, I will warn any woman that has to make a trip to go there, that their products are shaped for a more "european" body - no shoulders, small chest, long and lanky (i.e. Rev'It, Dainese, etc). That may work for you, but weight is just a number and it is hard to tell what will fit better without seeing you, or having more info. If an A* was kinda snug (especially in your shoulder or chest area), then you probably won't have much luck there, but you won't know without trying them on. I would suggest trying a few brands of jackets (easier to find in an array of sizes and brands), seeing what fits well, then venturing to full suits from there.
