Re: WTB-Let's find Rossco a bike that's NOT older than him
Is there a thread about this clutch?
Also, FZ6 and be done with it. Fricken things return 50 mpg even at 80mph. A little soft on the bottom but quite lively on top. DO NOT buy into the nonsense with people killing 2nd gear. That is strictly rider error.

Here's the clutch thread.

I like the FZ6's, but it can be a bit challenging finding one near me that's within my price range. The only thing I don't particularly like about them are the fact that you gotta buy a luggage rack to mount any bags on it without them getting burned by the undertail. But that dosen't neccesarily rule them out.
Whatever machine I get needs to be competent enough (or easily/cheaply modified) to run errands, commute, and even carry a few days worth of clothes for road trips.

FZ's are fun
check this one out http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/sell-...l-farkled.html
it's in NH,
Corbin seat, Laser X-Treme Quad undertail exhaust, MRA Vario Touring windscreen, frame sliders, SW Motech 1" Up & 1" Back handlebar risers
Full set of Cortech Sport Luggage (Saddlebags, tailbag, tankbag)
Stock (OEM) windscreen / exhaust / seat will be included
all for $5000 doesn't seem too bad for a 2008 with 5330miles

Sounds Great! I think Ross' budget is $3k...
Re: WTB-Let's find Rossco a bike that's NOT older than him
I think you need to slow down a bit. You seem to be jumping at over priced bikes in rough shape or bikes that are out of your budget that you have never ridden.
Get the Shadow fixed. If the clutch was working, then you swapped the plates, and now it's not, you can likely put in the old plates and have a working bike again. Or it is something really small that is keeping it from working.
Next up, trying out a few bikes to see what you like BEFORE making offers. You are welcome to try out my KLR, ZRX, Vmax. Of course with the "break it you buy it" stipulation. Luckily they are pretty much in your price range :D

Well, I got something! :drink::jackie::shredder::beerbang::party::woot:
If all goes as planned it should be unveiled at the next MCN (or euro bike night depending on the weather).
I ain't telling what it is yet, but I did succeed in finding a bike that isn't older than me.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions! It was much appreciated!
