Thumbs up Thanks Ted & Komaki

Annalisa and I decided to take a leisurely drive to find stuff to photograph.

We ended up heading east and ended up in Watertown at Ted's shop, since I'm in need of a new helmet, after the demise of my second lid this season.

Ted & Komaki were awesome! They took the time to help me out with the differences in helmet shapes between the 4 Arai types they had in stock. (Corsair V, Vector, Profile, and Quantum 2)

In the end, I ended up ordering a Corsair V Dani Pedrosa race replica. I like it, because it has red, blue, and silver in it. Since the 3 bikes I ride are red, blue, and silver (if I can get the same bike as the wrecked one), it seemed appropriate.

Annalisa and I also stuck around and talked shop and other BS with Ted & Komaki for quite some time. We didn't really get to talk to them too much at last year's Halloween party, since there were quite a few people there.

So, not only did I get a great deal on a great helmet, but we also got to spend some time with some great people.

    for Duncanmoto!

Wow. What a great compliment. Thanks Chuck.
It was great to be able to take time with you both as well.
I think Komaki has a little crush on Annalisa too. She said she reminds her of Olivia Newton John as Sandra Dee.

She always gets the compliments on looks. Me, rarely, since I tend to remind people of Curly Howard. *nyuk, nyuk, nyuk*

    Damn Chuck!!! Nice helmet.

I'm so lucky that the Corsair V doesn't fit me properly...

(so I got a new Suomy Spec 1R the other day... WTF was I thinking?)

Actually, you're unlucky that it doesn't fit you. I love it. Loved the RX-7 Corsair and the new V fits me just as well.

I actually tried on the Nicky II. If it weren't for the "punk" shot of him on the back of the helmet, I would have picked that one up.

I guess I don't like the stuff at the very back of either the Nicky II or the Hopkins. I did look at both.

I had the RX-7 Hayes Jolly Roger, and wasn't crazy about the swirl on the back, but at least it was livable.

If they hadn't matted the Jolly Roger for the Corsair V, I would have purchased another. I don't understand why the Quantum 2 Jolly Roger is still the glossy metal-flaked paint and the Corsair V is matte black. It looks cheap.

Matte colors should be reserved for solids.

I came close to stopping by for one fo your extras for the pose tomorrow, but by the time we got through Watertown and Brookline (Annalisa wanted to stop at Party Favors on Beacon St.), it was close to 7:30, so we decided to pack it in and head for home.

It was a long day of driving.

I do have my HJC, which my son uses.

Well, the helmet has been waiting for me for a week and a half and I finally got out to Watertown to pick it up. I love it. The blue and silver paint is metal flake and is awesome. Thanks again, Ted & Komaki. You two rock!

I even got to hang out and check out the new Tourmaster Synergy heated gear. Great stuff.
