They aren't what you'd call mad cheap, as you can't usually find one for less than $2500.

it would be cool if honda or kawasaki and a dealer would perhaps sponsor a 250 spec class, where basically riders put up money to ride one of the bikes and say there are 15 available and we pick a number and that is the bike you ride that weekend. No engine mods are allowed. we could do springs in the forks and you may put tires on that weekend if you want. And at the end of the weekend they are all stored in a container at the track for the next week. I dont have all the answers on exact details but just a thought we have thrown around friday nights at the track.

The old ones have shitty parts...like 16" rims to be exact. And nobody races them or has an aftermarket for them...

Yeah except for the whole suspension thing. I thought it sounded like a good idea at first too, but the more I thought about it the better it is to just have your own bike.

First of all because tires would be good for most of a season, suspension would change greatly from rider to rider in some cases, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be swapping suspension every weekend in order to race 1 race. I'd rather buy a bike.

Might be a bit late and not sure if this was suggested before. Will it be possible to use the time after the riders meeting and before the first race for track walks for racers? Either on foot or bicycle. I take it we have a good 35~45 mins there.

This is by no means definite, but it is a possiblity...sometime in 2013 or 2014. I give it 30% right now that NHMS may reconfigure turns 9 & 10 completely and add about 0.4 miles to the course up there.....joining back in with turn 11. Don't get too excited, but I've had more than one conversation with those guys about it.

The rumored seperate track needs to maintain the bowl and the character that is Loudon (tight and twisty)
