Animals, cages, pedestrians, bicyclists, other m/c's, and now THIS? It's pure speculation on my part, but I'd bet he was following too closely. Sounds like a TOTALLY avoidable accident...
Okay, now QUIZ TIME!!! How can ya tell he WAS wearing a helmet?
he's not dead?Quote:

Good answer, but no. Anyone else? C'mon, Randy! You must be dying to tell everyone, being the anarchist you are! :D
they woulda mentioned if he wasn't?
ie: "the stupid, silly biker is alive by the grace of god, because he wasn't wearing a helmet. hitting the driveshaft was obviously his fault, and he should be publically flogged."

That's it!!! It's the same with seatbelts. IF they ARE wearing 'em, no mention whatsoever. As soon as they find the 'victim' isn't wearing one, they're all over it. Fuckin' media pisses me off!!!:madfawk
yup, that's the news media.
I've seen too much shit suddenly appear from underneath a cage/truck, I also notice a lot od loose stuff bout ready to fall out of or off from cages, Last saturday as I was headed down to MM on 495, a punk in a ricer came up behind me fast when I was in left lane doing about 85-90, I pulled into center lane and let him past, but I waited to get back into left lane cause his license plate was hooked only by one fastener and was flappin. Lot of people tell me I'm a slowpoke cause I don't follow 0.3 secs, but I'll continue to follow 4-5 secs like I always do, even at the recommended 2-3 secs. you have to react pretty quick, I'd rather have plenty of time to react. it ain't the races.
a $72 fine and a summons is all they do for dropping a driveshaft that could have KILLED someone on the road?! What the fuck is is up with that?
That's about all they (LEO) can do.
However, I'd bet for sure that the mc operator will be looking at a civil suit. That's where the BIG $ will be paid.
