Anyone else here having a problem wiht comcast or is it just me? Looks like both their primary and secondary DNS server is down. Neither is responding to dns queries, but I am able to ssh into my work server by IP (hence the typos, damn xterm is kinda slow over le intarweb)
Pissy thing is, pieece of junk router won't let me manully confiugre DNS, it has to be done via DHCP :madfawk: Ishould I set the building on fire.

I figured a DNS flush would do it, but it was worthless.

I went to "work" last night and returned with 4 cases. I needed a dolly to carry it all out. We have 1 fridge filled with just beer and one more fridge 1/3 filled with beer. Full sized fridges too!

Found something on the Comcast site, when I was able to get there about a national outage do to server(s) failure.
Hmmm, no interweb?
I guess I'll cycle my RC batteries just in case I go racing this weekend.

Yup. Had the same problem yesterday. Google main page was coming up, and my bank main page too, but as I was trying to get to my account, nothing. Glad to know it was not only our computer...

the hip new attack is DNS poisoning, where they fuck up all the DNS info @ the upstream servers.
i imagine some security guy @ comcast just lost his fuckin' job.
oh, and comcast is even fucked up out here in no-mans-land.

It's actually a non-malicious hardware issue.
Change your DNS server settings in your router to 4.1.1.1 and 4.2.2.2. Should work fine after that.
I'm happy to hear that paying $42 a month for internet equals downtime lasting for hours when it's time to upgrade their hardware.
