Huge group ride Sept 24?

Come one come all !

This is not a "NESR" ride, but something I would like to try to get as many of you members together for an enjoyable day together.
There will be Multiple groups with defferent skill levels/speeds. But I would like to keep the speeds all moderate so there are no incedents or run ins with the "MAN" I just want a fun day to be enjoyed by all!

Ride to VT with One main start point, most likely off The Mass Pike In Western Mass ( Springfield ) in order to get ourselves into VT at a decent time. Start time in Springfield will most likely be 8:30 with a departure time of 9 AM Sharp!

I will be mapping out a route, and will print out copies for most everyone to follow. (First come first serve) I would like to get a list going closer to the date as to definates, but for now just show your interest by listing your name as a possibility to join!

Springfield starting point, eh? Nice. I only live 10 minutes away over the border.

I will pencil this one in on the calendar!

put-put rides are a good idea once in a while.
i got pulled over twice in one day this weekend.

just warnings though. one was real lucky, the cop liked my bike and let me go.... scratch that... both were real lucky.

anyways, back to the topic at hand, i'd be interested.

Who said anything about Put-Puttin?:dunno: Just not crazy fast.
Maybe 20 - + OPL in most cases. Stick to Posted or roughly 5 over in small town centers and such as to not draw attention. :innocent:

Hey Oreo-G, it's not that far for you, just jump on the Mass Pike west. I think It's exit 6 where the friendly's is I was thinking for the start point? Possibly an hour - 1/2 or so? I ya need ya can crash on my couch the night before, lock your bike in my trailer and ride out with me in the AM. Even go out for a few :beer: Friday night.. It takes me an hour - 15 minutes to get there slabbing it. ( It's well worth it! ) This should be fun! :D

I want to go, but you're all coming to VT, so I had have to do it backwards? :dunno:

yeah, bout an hour & 1/2 to 2 hours, which means i'd have to be pullin outta my driveway at 7:30 at the lastest.... yuk (remember, i work 2nd shift. i'm used to gettin up at 10 during the week.)

I may take ya up on that offer though.

Hmm, For People Like Jenn & KB maybe even the VT people maybe there should be a second Meet point further North in southern VT so ya'll can join and not have to shlep so far. Plus if anyone runs late they can jump on 91N and catch up at meet point #2 !

Depending on the weather, Man God and I might be up for it. And my backyard is open to anyone who want to camp out. If there is only one or two people, we could accomodate you inside the house. :)

Half Squid...I was doing an average of 20 miles over speed limits on the ride I organized, sometimes higher, and I was STILL too slow for most of the riders who joined in...only a few of us felt comfortable going "that fast" on backroads, rest of the gang eclipsed us far ahead...lol To me 20 + - is not a put put ride, it's a FUN ride! :D Any faster than that in my case is just suicide, on backroads.

You have plenty of time to request it off ya knob! Thats why I posted it soo early! :twofinger

I ussualy can not do Sundays, plus thats when all the church goer's and Sunday drivers are out... "F" That....

Mike, I used to wear the orange apron too and I always got the days I wanted off ! They are so desperate for good help they try to act like dicks and get things their way but will be flexible if your stern. I used to hate it when My Lead would tell me I couldn't get a Saturday off, but they themselves were almost never in on the weekends :bs: I fixed them.... I just called in sick... They soon realized to be more flexable with me!!! I always got the schedule I wanted! :D

I'd be interested in this.
I haven't done a large group ride in awhile, could be a nice change of pace.
should be great weather at that time, before all the leaves really start piling up on the streets too.

I'd def like to do a large ride like this, i'll keep this date in the back of my mind.

I'm down. :) Are you planning on taking back roads from Springfield to VT, or making the 20 minute spring up 91 to hit the VT line? I'm like 45 seconds from the VT line in MA right on 91 and would love to catch you guys on your way up. Based on my housing situation come that time, I may be able to accomodate a few people for a slumber party!

What other boards have you advertised this on btw? Just curious. :)

If you get enough people from out West/North here in MA, or the Southern VT area, you could save us the trouble and set up a 2nd meet spot for us to meet you at, instead of making us ride down to the hole that is Springfield. :D
