Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
Yes us little dopes can't afford the real stuff
I have decent skills with turbo-CAD cause it and me is cheap
so want to see what is different with PRO_E
-
Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
I finally talked to my bro, but unfortunately he doesn't have a copy at the moment. He said he would keep an eye though. Best of luck.

is there any specific information or functionality your looking for? I could maybe help out. Like I said, I mainly deal with our milling, mold and all that mfg stuff, not regular part modeling but I could let you know what might be there or not within our software.

Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
Most high end cad/cam softwares have a HASP (hardware against software piracy) Also known as a dongle.
They either hook to the USB or parrallel port (printer port)
You can find a lot of cracked software on the net, but plenty of viruses and scams too

Yeah, Mastercam was cracking down on the "crack" sites.
A lot of the legit users, were reporting them.
I've been using Mastercam since it came out in DOS.
The only thing that sucks is the Fees they charge to keep the software maintained.
Solidworks plays the game if you have an earlier version, it won't work with the newer, so it forces you to upgrade.
I have customers that upgrade every release, so I need them to convert the models to a parasolid format.

Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
Yes, we pay that yearly maintenance fee to. You almost have to have it especially if you are using Mcam-X Soo many bugs that wont get fixed if you are not on it.
-
Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
And what gets me is that I feel the bugs should get fixed for free. You already paid the license fee for a solid running program.
Christ, we got 3 seats running level 3! I'm not too fond of "X", although I got a cool "T" shirt! Still going back to 9.1 if I have to do something fast. Just don't have the time to learn the new look of "X".
and so it goes...At least I'm not paying for the Maint fees..the company is!
-
Re: PRO-E Student CAD Software
I agree! The bugs should get fixed for free! And they used to prior to X coming out!
BTW Mark, are you on the emastercam.com forum? Funny, my reseller Steve is on this site too LOL!

I heard PTC was up for sale? We use it here at school along with ANSYS and occasionally I use solidworks on my own time, I have a couple student editions hanging around.
