That's an LS1 in it so it would be a C5, the C6 got the 6.0 LS2. The LS1 is a great motor and responds extremely well to mods.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
No feedback posted to the seller yet, so I can't find the closed auction number to look at the final price. :P

NESR drift competition!
:drink:
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
You know what LS6's love? Nitrous.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
That's one helluva present! You musta thought you were a nice boy this year.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
I won the car for $16,500. I call up the dealer immediately at the end of the auction, and say "I just won a corvette on ebay..." his response was "you stole a corvette on ebay".
Haha he seemed like a good guy from the phone conversation, he couldn't believe the price I won it at and neither can I. I've been searching for the past 2-3 months. All the corvettes close to this one were selling for $24,000 plus.
Yes it is the C5, with the 5.7. The z06 puts out the same power as the 05-06 base models with the 6.0. My future plans to the car will be to black everything out and put either a turbo kit or supercharger kit in it. Both perform the same and will put it to about 560 Hp with about 515lbs of torque, on the stock motor. If I begin to upgrade components on the engine I'll be well into the 600+ range at the wheels.

Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
damn, nicely done mike.
care to take me for a spin sometime once the weather gets a little more hilariously-powerful-rwd-vehicle appropriate? i've never been in a C5, only a base auto C6 LS2 once :(
the late-model C5 z06s are

though
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
I rarely ever say this but I'd go with a supercharger for C5's. There is not a lot of room for turbos in there and stuffing them in there can lead to some bad longevity side effects. I think Kenne Bell has a blowzilla that fits there. I'd do that.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
oh and i've heard good things about prochargers
i ran into some guy at the burlington mall once with one who was running mid 10s, lol
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
vortech or A+A superchargers are my top choices, they seem to have the best kits. The benefit of the A+A is I can use the stock hood, with the vortech I need to get a new hood.

Okay, well this brings up a question. Does it count as a present for others if you receive the ultimate 'gift?' Let's say, hypothetically that you shopped at Attachment 13712. This counts, right? It's a win-win!! Hypothetically, of course!!

6-speed? How does the tranny hold up with the heavy HP mods? Clutch? Rear end?
Congrats!!
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
I've seen the stock clutch go to 500 at the rear wheels, I plan to upgrade the fly wheel and differentials anyways. The z06's suspension and tire width is also good for that power, I'd widen the rear tires a bit for the added traction when I'm seeing those kind of numbers though.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
wow, sweet car at a fantastic price, congrats! 345 or 385hp?
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
385 stock, with the exhaust its probably just about 400.
Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..
nice...i miss my 03 mustang cobra...esp with these gas prices
a z06 is a steal for that price. where is it at?
