I hit a cone with my foot last night on 128 and twisted my ankle pretty bad. Didn't hurt that much last night but today I got a mean limp. It hurts when I get to the end of a full step with the hurt foot.
I hate taking PTO to go to the doctor, especially having to wait in the ER. So...

I'd wait till Monday. I wacked my pinky to against door frame in my house about a month ago and it freaking killed. nasty black and blue and swelling almost immediately. I couldn't walk for 2 days and i totally thought it was broken till the 3rd day and it didn't hurt at all anymore.Quote:

It is most likely a sprain. I used to get them more often before I started to were boots all the time. You will be fine. If it were broken or if you tore a ligament you would not be walking on it from the pain.
Take 400mgs of naproxen sodium every 8 hours and ice it when you can. Also wear shoes that support your ankle. You will be fine. Watch out for cones. I did a similar thing last year when I tried to kick a traffic cone. I thought my leg was going to rip off! lol
Definitely wait. Not worth the ER copay and wait...but if you just have to go...wait until nightime to go into the ER.

I'd think about going to the ER...if the pain is getting worse after the injury may be worse than you prior thought.

Really, I'd wait and see how it was doing over the weekend, unless you have major plans which would require a lot of pressure on your foot...
I just did laps around my office and some stairs. I'm gettind my gangster lean on. It seems stable. I'm gonna see how the weekend goes. Gotta ride the bike more though. the brake pedal hurts.lol

Are there any "urgent care" centers around you? They are cheaper, less of a wait and IMO better than an ER for smaller non-trauma issues. :) They are starting to gain in popularity since most ER's (In Manchester NH anyway) are full of welfare people looking for something to do for the day or they broke a nail!
If you get free care from being a vet, just go there... fuck it!
