Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
Has anyone seen the BlueAnt F4 Interphone bluetooth intercom system for sale at any shops locally? By local, I mean anywhere in NH or MA
I'm looking into picking up bluetooth bike-to-bike intercoms and I've heard some great things about the F4 Interphone, but I'd like to find them locally if possible to check them out before purchasing.
For reference, here is the BlueAnt F4 link http://www.myblueant.com/products/he...e/f4/index.php
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
Hm.... looks similar to the ScalaRider I've got. I wWonder how they compare.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
We're also looking at the Scala Q2, but I've heard less-than-good things about the voice activation feature on the Scala. Do you have the Q2, or just the Rider? How do you like it?
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
I've got the Q2. The voice activation is alright but I don't have much to compare it to. It could also be my phone.
 I've got two of them, you're more than welcome to try them out before you decide.
FYI, the FM reciever sucks balls, but other than that, I like it.

I've read some people saying that they have to yell into the mic for the voice activation. Have you noticed this?
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
eh, kinda but not really... I gotta speak really clearly at speed though & sometimes it still doesn't understand what I'm saying but 9 times outta 10 it figures it out.
I hardly ever initiate phone calls with it. If someone calls me then I'll pick up... if I'm gonna place a call or if I'm talking for long then I usually just pull over. It's really friggin weird talking & riding at the same time. Definitely a distraction.
I usually just use it for GPS turn-by-turn directions which works great, but that part of it isn't voice activated.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
I personally prefer Q2, me and my friend both were interested in buying bike-bike communication devices. I went for scala, while my friend for blueant.
And I am happy with my decision, because the voice quality of interphone f4 at high speed sucks. the quality of their conversation above 60 km is not good. and when he went to return the product, blueant were a nightmare to deal with. I would not recommend it to any one.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
Thanks for the info. We're looking at either the Scala Q2 or the Scala G4 that was realeased a few weeks ago, so I'm happy to hear that the Scala seem/s to be the better of the two brands.
I think we're going to wait another few months to see how the G4 shakes out before we make our decision.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
I've got the interphone and I'm not happy with the volume. Can't hear the other person when going over 20MPH.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
Has anyone tried any of these setups on the track? Not necessarily for during the races but maybe practices?
Thanks,
Fitz
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
I am facing similar problems. I got one of the F4’s after owning the original interphone. I thought they would have improved the quality. They haven’t – the quality of the conversation above 60 is not good. Now I want to return the prroduct,. May I get my money back:pray:
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
The new ScalaRider (G4?) Is supposed to be the :jackie:...
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
hey why do you want to waste alot of your money on this project??
I had this system. I bought it at the end of january. but I waste dissapointed after using it. it was not like the one I was thinking to be. I thought they would have improved the quality. But no. I will soon return it.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
The Scala Rider G4 has had awesome reviews so far.
The G4 is the newest unit from Cardo Scala Rider, out in stores 2 weeks ago.
The Scala Rider units have a built in system that recognizes the ambient noise, the unit will automatically increase/decrease volume. For example, if you are riding and the ambient noise increases (increase wind noise/loud vehicle around you) the system will automatically increase the volume so you can hear better. All hands free. Then, when the ambient noise reduces, the system will automatically reduce the volume.
The G4 has A2DP stereo sound; you can bluetooth your iPod/MP3 player into the G4, or you can hardwire it as you do with the Q2 (cord is provided). The hardwire cord is the only cord coming out of the helmet with the Scala Rider units; otherwise it's all helmet contained.

Hope this helps.
Re: Where to find BlueAnt F4 Interphone locally?
I had a Scala Rider Q2 - cant say I was that impressed to be honest. Between what seemed to be a dying microphone, no responses to their email on support issues, and very hard to hear helmet speakers I rather gave up on it.
Volume and Pickup wise, the G4 is significantly better? Can it accept earbuds or are we still relying on 'ear speakers'?
